5 things we learned

1) Football is still a game of inches. Stopped twice on the goal line. A sure pick 6 slips through a Panther db's hands. A int goes right thru another defender's hands on a key 3rd down.

2) The d still has too many penalties to keep drives alive.

3)Shula called Tolbert's # on 3rd and goal on the SAME side BOTH times.

4) No brainer on the need for better/faster wr's and maybe a taller solid db wouldn't hurt.

5)The team can only get better

we already have a softie tight end in greg olsen , dont need another .

 

dont get me wrong i like olsen but the guy is not a physical player at all... goes down so easily and looks like a WR trying to block lol. to me a tight end should be a physical player

I said before the year that we were likely a year away from making a legitimate push for a Super Bowl. I predicted us to go 9-7 and in reality just wanted to get a playoff birth. 12-4 and an NFCS Championship is enough to build on. We simply did not have the weapons nor the protection up front to get us to the promise land. That can be fixed in one off-season and I am looking forward to it. This is the off-season where we revamp the offense and build around the Franchise QB that is Cam Newton.

i said it elsewhere and i guess im not done venting. IF. More so than more talent BUT if there were more in game adjustments who knows what this team could have done.

 

I don't see Belichick squandering this talent.

3. Cam needs more weapons and a better system. Obviously this is not news to anyone but it really showed in this game, we are not built to come from behind and we cannot score quickly.

1. The NFL got the matchup it wanted for the NFC championship game.

 

2. We just arent quite there yet.

4. A new rivalry has been born, and there was certainly no love lost between these two teams.

 

5. This team is going to be good for years and years to come with Cam and Luke anchoring their respective sides.

The biggest thing that I learned is that our Oline is pussy and can't gain a yard on 6 tries...I didn't think so before, but it's obvious that we have to get some maulers up front starting with RT.
