A Couple Thoughts From Inside the Stadium

......I was upset the crowd left with 4 minutes left. Our chances of winning at that point were low but did you really have somewhere better to be? We have 8 months until preseason and you couldn't savor the last 4 minutes of one of our best seasons?...........

btw I could not stand the fans pouring out the stadium with over 4 mins left.  Thats unacceptable.

The moment you are talking about was right after the Josh Norman unsportsmanlike penalty.  We did not leave until the clock said zero, and never have.... BUT my son stood up right after that play and said "lets get out of here".   He was pissed off.  It is bad enough when he plays sports and some nimrod on his team does something stupid like that, but when a professional does; it blows my mind.  I understand why the fans left at that point and I am the one usually yelling at them when they do.  Norman should not be here next season simply for that play.  He pretty much killed any hope for a comeback.

That was Josh Thomas but you are correct that was a punk move.

Look guys you are entitled to your opinions and your ticket allows you ingress and egress to the stadium. I just don't want to hear people complain about the whine and cheese and fair weather fans when they are part of the problem. The game ends at 0:00 and god forbid you clap the team off the field for a 12-4 season. They bust their asses for our entertainment, yeah we pay them handsomely but it's a little too fickle for me to abandon a team I've cheered for all season because they met their match.

I hear ya and agree...   We are people who never leave. That was just his immediate reaction at the time mentioned, I told him we're not going anywhere, are in no rush, and just sit down, relax and "enjoy" the rest of the game.  The thought never crossed my mind to go.  We stayed to the very end and soaked it all in.

I, personally, wouldn't have a problem with people leaving after Cam threw that pic. The game was over at that point. Fans deal with losing in different ways. Some get sad, others want to cheers to a good season, others want to beat the poo out of 9ers fans. Stop always judging how fans act and claiming you're a real fan and they're not. Who gives a poo? It's a completely different scenario when fans leave because they want to avoid traffic than leaving because the game is over and their hearts have just been ripped out of their chests after a loss like that.

There's an older couple who sit in front of me who never misses a game (all 18 years).  The wife even wears a radio on her arm with an ear piece so she can hear the commentary there.  They ALWAYS leave early - if we're winning, if we're losing, it's just what they do.  It reaches a point where they feel confident in the outcome and they're outta there and it's just what they do.  I'd put their "fandom" way above many others who complain about people who leave early.  Their ticket - their choice.

The atmosphere was unbelievable.

Let's not go crazy. That is what a lot of other NFL stadiums are for a regular season game.  There was nothing amazing about it.  Above average for a Panther game, yes.

You want amazing...drive another 90 minutes down 85 or 77 to Clemsux or USC.  It still blows my mind that big football school fans in the area are soooooooooooooo much more into the game from start to finish than they are at a Panthers game.

On a side note about inside the game from my perspective

I gave up my season tickets (used to buy them from a PSL holder) four years ago because we couldn't do both USC and Panthers game anymore due to having a kid so we had to pick one.  Being in the stadium for the first time in 4 years, I was really disappointed in the in-game experience. Speakers were terrible. Couldn't ever find stats. PA announcer was lame. Music wouldn't be relevant if it were 1992. They just copy traditions from USC like Sandstorm and "It's another Panthers...". Lame.  And worst of all, it was exactly all like this 4 years ago.  No improvements to any of this.

That said, it was a huge improvement to see fans actually in their seat at kickoff and for the first half, we never sat down.  It was truly sad to see 80% of the people leave with 4:30 left.  I mean really...it is sunny and 60 degrees in January. WTF better do you have to do for the next 15 minutes. Did make it super easy to get out though when the clock hit 00.

The majority of my college game experiences have been different than my NFL game experiences.

Gah, it sucked so bad having to sit there and listen to the niners douches talking poo until the end of the game. I seriously wanted to strangle them. I sat there and literally cried. Yes, like a girl.

You're a guy? Iola is a popular girl's name and your avatar looks like it belongs on a bridal forum. You like to confuse people? LOL

Some people are just gonna leave games early. It's just the way they are. When it happens when the game hasn't been decided and your team still has a legit chance, it makes me wonder why they bothered to pay for tickets and show up, but you're not gonna change their habits no matter what.

I'm gonna really enjoy watching the Seahawks shut the 49er fans up. SF has climed to the top of my s*it list.
