Which is why I disagree with Rivera's approach for the second half.  Harbaugh was encouraging his guys to be agitators and keep pushing it and make the refs get involved - I believe because he knew the game was bent officiated in his favor.  So Rivera told our guys to "calm down?"

We we needed to match their intensity.  When we calmed down, the wheels fell off.

i agree with half of this.   if we had raised it to their level, the loss would have been even more lopsided.

we had to cool it because the calls weren't going our way.  harbaugh was all about pushing it because the calls were going the 49ers way.

Have to admit, that Ron wasn't belligerent enough with the refs regarding how they officiated the game. It was so one sided against the Panthers.

Of course the goal line playcalling and secondary getting burnt and contributing dumb penalties didn't help either. That's a given. But Ron Ron should definitely be fighting for every edge, and not just assuming he's gonna win the game cause his team magically starts playing better.

Panthers, also need to have a balance of their big play offense of the first two years, and their methodical one of this year (or ability to do both at anytime). Of course, this means the Panthers have to find a consistent run game, which they did not for 2013

Can't let Newton get banged up on run plays like that, just cause your RB's can't run the ball, and/or O-Line can't block for them.
