Rivera is pissed and upset because being a professional means rising above your emotions.  It means controlling them and not letting them get the best of you.  If you've ever been in a fight or been a fight fan (MMA or Boxing) the guy that loses his cool and can't play smart and under control is the gun that usually gets knocked out.

Man the F up.  If you have to beat the other team and the refs, then so be it.  Beat them both.  Forgot all the bad calls.  We can't control that.  We can control taking swings at people or giving another guy a head butt.

In all the action movies everybody loves the crazy guy who runs in head first, guns blazing screaming and takes down 20 bad guys but in real life that dude gets capped in half a second.

What do you think Payton Manning or Michael Jordan did after hard loses.  I'd be shocked if they went back to the locker room and cried.  They played with too much emotion directed in the wrong areas.  Take that emotion and put it into your playing.

This makes me love Rivera even more.  As my Dad always told me, "Get your ass off your shoulders".  No body (the league, refs) is going to give our Panthers a damn thing.  Next year they need to go out and take it.

I agree 100%.  The Panthers let their emotions get the best of them. Panthers beat themselves in that game.  And crying after the loss doesn't make anything better.

While thats true that crying doesn't help them...it does help me.  It shows these guys LOVED playing the game of football as a whole team, a family if you will.  And while this season didn't end on the note any of us wanted, it shows what passion these players had, it wasn't about the pay day for most, it was about the W's.

Proud this is my team.

Crying aftewards I could deal with but it's just another sign of controlling your emotions.  They didn't do it on the field or after the game because they had to close the doors and Rivera ripped them for it.  I don't want to see Cam down in the dumps and woe is me.  I want to see him pissed.  At the refs, at himself and at the team.

The team is growing up though.  They will learn from this.  Rivera is molding the young ones and Cam is maturing but he's only 24 and still isn't that mature veterean...yet.

It's that hold saying about your response when the poo hits the fan is what defines you.  And it seems the teams response was to cry about it.

No issues with these guys crying if it's actually true. To me it's just another sign that they are close. Think about it, how many men Will actually cry in front of each other ? Every season is different and we never know if they will be 12-4 or 4-12, but things do look bright and all of us fans have a lot to be proud of. Yes, I'm probably one of the biggest, negative dicks when it's game day, but I still love this team and where it appears to be headed.

Joe Person ‏@josephperson 2m

Cam blamed himself for the failed QB sneak on 4th-and-1. Said he told coaches to call his number, thought he could make it.

can we get a screen cap of this play... i remember seeing the ball being on the line or over it at some point during the play and have not seen a good replay of it yet!  still think its possible that we got a TD there

young team...they will learn and the veterans that are on 1 yr deals know this team is on the verge and love playing for this team and staff because its a family.  bring back gross...of course Mitchell...one of the most physical players that brings other players up a level...we might lose Hardy but we just need a WR and some OL help....secondary we have some young guys that are learning...KEEP POUNDING!

Young? Panthers are oldest team in the division.
