Not just a new OC, but a new system is needed.

Yea Shula is a below average OC. The other nice thing about getting rid of Shula is the trend that follows each team that he leaves.

They've all won Championships.

So, you found one good reason to hire him, sacrifice this year so we can fire Shula this offseason and 89 gets his ring next year?

Hmmm ... if that actually happens it might be worthwhile ...

Do you care more about howany points we have? Or how efficient we are? Would you have rather scored 20 and lost?

I think some people here would be content with finishing 7-9 every year as long as we score 30 points a game. The problem is that offense was part of the problem... too many mistakes, a ton of 3-and-outs, and no TOP advantage.

The sooner we realize our offense was a big reason we went 12-4, the better. With a few personnel fixes we can become a lot better and truly be a force to be reckoned with.

Does that take into account turnovers by the defense that sets the offense up in FG range already?

Points per drive..hah defense has something do with some of that as well.

Although we also ranked 11th in yards per drive and 5th in drive success rate. And if we had a bunch of short fields that would have negatively effected that latter

So if the defense was boost in points per drive because of a bunch of short fields we were actually better on offense than our 11th ranking in yards per drive

Also had a Defense that scored 1/10th of the total TD's

Then you missed the part where we escaped Atlanta, New York, Miami, etc. Do you honestly believe we were going to do the same thing in the playoffs? We easily could have gone 9-7 had it not been for Cam's and/or the defenses' heroics.

We're not going to win a Super Bowl with Shula unless we score the fugging lottery in May.

And we could have gone 15-1 if we won winnable games against SEA, BUF, and ARI. Your point?

Do you ever consider the alternative. That is you play faster or more aggressively and your offense struggles you could not even be in the game to "escape" with a win?

It works both ways.

^ fixed

Again. TOP and scoring at a high clip, and limiting possessions = better defensive statistics.

If we played faster or more aggressively the other team would also have more possessions and scoring opportunities and yardage opportunities. Not to mention the defense getting gassed.

The two go hand and hand.

It is not a coincidence that the defense also had the 4th best starting field position all season as well
