I think that 10 points isn't going to win a lot of games. Hang on to stats tho, by all means, but they scored 10 or less 4 times this season and won only one of those, and in the that win the D didn't allow a TD. They didn't score enough points to win at Atl to wrap up the 2 seed, the D bailed them out there, too. Seems like there were several games where the O was laying an egg until the D got a score to get them back in it.

We went 12-4. Had several games with 30+ points too. Seemed to work more than it didn't

Shula caters the offense to what we CAN do. Not what we WANT or THINK we can do.

 

we simply dont have the talent to do what some of yall want to be able to do on offense.

 

Our offense simply lacks the talent to be better than it is. simple as that

 

This. Shula is not going to get you to the next level on offense but the system we run is because we have too.

 

We need more weapons.

 

You cannot just drop all your resources into the defense...not address the offense...and expect the Saint's offense.

I would say that we need a new culture on offense. Gut it as it is. Keep Cam. Keep Kalil. Keep Smitty and Olsen and Tolbert. Then start over with the rest. Let gross retire. Get rid of the coaching staff on that side of the ball... Everything.

I'd even be okay with kicking the tires with ken Whisenhunt and seeing if he'd be interested in being head coach.

Do you care more about howany points we have? Or how efficient we are? Would you have rather scored 20 and lost?

 

I would like to not score 10 points or less 1/4 of the time.

 

I would like an offense that is ranked higher than the bottom quarter of the NFL to go with this D. Hell I'd settle for 15th or so.

My point is we were 12-4 and top ten in points per drive and TDs per drive despite 9 of our 16 games playing against defenses in the top half of the NFL on defense.

Most people consider that a success. What was your point again?

I think our offensive system is fine. I don't like having to run Cam so much. But the reason we do is because we don't have the interior push to run Tolber and Williams like we want them to.

 

All we need on O is a stronger o-line and some new WR's. I'm all for Maclin, bring back Ginn, let LaFell walk, draft a WR 1st round.

I agree.Our O-line didn't have a push up front all season. I don't think we even had 1 game with a 100 yard rusher. That's freaking sad. And Brandon Lafell just HAS NOT worked out. He just isn't a starting WR in the NFL. And lets face it, our RB's are not the same group they were......We DO need talent. OL, WR, and RB. It is a MUST this off season.

So you would rather rank higher in total yards than be top 10 in efficiency?

Does that take into account turnovers by the defense that sets the offense up in FG range already?

 

Points per drive..hah  defense has something do with some of that as well.
