I really dont think its the system but the playcalling. Cam would suck in a WCO that threw short passes and lets not forget Chud got 30pt with less talent. Need better talent and better playcalling.

Cam needs Weapons Bad,  A franchise QB who gets constantly Harped how he is not a great passer since he's been at Auburn.  Giving him only a ageing Smith to Play with is doing nothing but hurt him.  Scheme isnt to bad, calls could improve.  No Weapons with Cam= no one respecting our pass game and stacking the box causing a bad matchup for our strength.  Difference in Kaep and Cam today was Weapons.  Cam though got sacked OL held up better and even the announcing crew pointed it out much of the game.  Kaep could dump it to 2-3+options.  Cam had to wait San Fran put in some nice Blitzes and Nothing any QB could do.

Zod you are exactly right.  I think the odds are not in our favor though.  Maybe we can get some OL help that will allow us to actually run block if we have to stick with 4 go no dumpoff Shula.

I think the offensive system was played to our strengths. Two overpaid RBs that need to be evaluated by DG. I am confident that it will change going into next season.

We need something half way between what Shula and Chud were running.

 

However I think this is a pointless conversation as even though it is clear we got to 12-4 in spite of the offense, there's no way Shula is losing his position after that record.

...this system was close to working but lacked at the crutial moments...no nuts so to speak...Shula needs to hang out with his oldman waiting for some team to break the Dolphins win streak...thats the only time his azz will uncork champagne....terrible outing for 2 weeks off on his part....

Shula caters the offense to what we CAN do. Not what we WANT or THINK we can do.

I think our offensive system is fine. I don't like having to run Cam so much. But the reason we do is because we don't have the interior push to run Tolber and Williams like we want them to.

 

All we need on O is a stronger o-line and some new WR's. I'm all for Maclin, bring back Ginn, let LaFell walk, draft a WR 1st round.

I agree, but it will not happen.  He will stay because we were successful.  The defense will continue carry the team for another 2-3 seasons and then in the postseason the lack of offense will catch up to us.  Then we will finally dump him.
