Not just a new OC, but a new system is needed.

Not sure he is the sole decision maker.

Plus Shula is Newton's security blanket.

We will see..

Not sure if JR would stop DG and Rivera from canning Shula, unless he wanted to expressly continue good relations and being invited to dinner parties with his father, Don Shula.

Don't think who ever the OC is would make a difference to Cam.

The only possible effect, maybe Newton re-establishing a relationship and how long it would take him having input in the offense, as he does now.

But that shouldn't make a difference to Cam. He wants to win and put up points. And if there's someone who can, so let it be.

We'll see?

Dear Gettleman,

About the offense... Blow it up. Blow it all up.

We need a new OC to come in and design a new system around Cam. Something with a faster pace and an identity.

From there, draft and sign players who compliment it. Please don't try to put bandages over what we currently have. It won't work. Shula is not capable of making in game adjustments, as I stated around this time last year.

And don't give me that "Cam can't learn a new system" crap. Cam is a bright guy, with a legit offensive staff he will be more than fine, he will have an identity. Loads of offenses flourish in their first year.

Love,

Zod

I agree with you 1000%

I am not one who gets all hair on fire when a team loses but I watched the game yesterday and had a hard time believing that any could seriously look at that game and not see the obvious weaknesses of the Panthers. 8 minutes with the ball and Cam had no one to seriously help him move it down the filed. The team gets to the Red-zone twice and both times missed opportunities for TDs because they were trying to execute the same move a second time when it didn't work the first time. That would have made the difference between the score being 10 vs. 20 plus. We won't touch the fact that as soon as the ball gets into Cam's hands the O-line was parted like the Red Sea and defenders were all in his face. How do one expect this kid to learn to sit in a pocket when there isn't a pocket for him to sit in. Peyton, Brady, and Drew had all year to throw their balls, thanks to those around them who did their jobs.

IMO, the only thing that separated Colin from Cam yesterday, were their respective Teams. One QB was surrounded by sound players. The other, not so much. Case in point, that final Int. You can tell Cam threw it exactly where he wanted it to go. Sadly, the Panthers Receiver was a step behind the defender, something that was way to obvious on both sides of the ball for the Panthers, and the ball ended up in the defenders hands when he doubled back. U can tell the defender wasn't deliberately going for the ball by the way his reaction when he realized he the ball in his hand. He just simply doing his job and the Panthers Receiver wasn't. Some one here complain that Cam cannot throw Receivers open. They fail to realize that in order to do so, Receivers have to know how to get to those open spots.

Also, it's becoming quite disturbing to see folks go out of there way to paint all sorts of negative stereotypes on this kid simply to appease their egos. Even worst is when the take the flaws of other QBs and impose them on Cam and folks treat them as facts despite the obvious. Case in point: another MYTH that Cam cannot learn another system, still feeding the whole he's "not intelligent" BS. It's funny how the media and some will lean on Luck's college experience to defend their argument about his "greatness." But when it comes to Cam, college experience doesn't count for much. I guess if folks weren't so hell bent on weakening Cam's image, they would admit that he's a very adaptable QB and the whole he can't learn and adapt in other systems is just another bogus claim just like the others. After all he did attend three different schools and took two of them to their NC his first season with them. But when folks set out to drag down the image of someone, such things are easily argued away or dismissed in order to forge ahead with their agenda.

Very true.

It is hard to tell if its personnel in desperate need of  playmaker infusion, young playmaker infusion or the play calling or both.

Three  things are true to me:

1.  failing at the 1 yard line twice and doing the same thing in both of those drives is mind boggling.  As I heard

Strahan said, 'you challenge San Fran on the edges, not up the middle.  Why not spread them out?'.

2.  being in the low 20s in offense won't cut in the playoffs, no matter the cause.

3.  As I said before, the Panthers can't count on a miracle every week to get a W, from either side of the ball.

I hope Gettleman makes changes and when it comes to the guards, not sure the ones on IR are the answer either.

Regardless, Panthers fought for everything and enver quit.  I just hate Collin Kapernick more than I ever thought I would or could.  That little demonstration in the endzone totally bush league.  If Newton had done that, the headlines would be screaming what a thug he is.  If i had been Kapernick's coach, he would have gotten a 'act like you have been there before speech from me.

The offense moved the ball fine in this game. We lost it in the red zone when once again we failed to convert td's.

This was bad play calling combined with poor execution by the OL. I would say 75% play calling and 25% execution....running it consistently into the teeth on the defense was dumb.

Another thing. This will be Shula's 2nd season. All teams have tape on him. He is already a questionable OC as it is now. How do you think he'll be next season? Cam won't be able to bail out his stupidity in his 2nd year just like he couldn't Chud in his 2nd year. Teams have always got to look to improve. We got to as well. We can do a lot better than Shula.

Zod the prophet, absolutely nailed it on Shula from the moment his promotion was announced. Cam did enough to hide some of Shula's ineptness this season, but those games down the stretch where our O just seemed stagnant came to a head in this Divisional loss.

Shula should not be retained. Chud is not a realistic option, nor should he be. Someone said combine Shula and Chud for what our O needs. Norval, that means you.

Upon reflection of our offensive offense yesterday, I have a couple of things I just want to share and this seems like a good place to do it.

Our offense got out coached yesterday.  Period.  There is a lot of gamesmanship between Offense and Defense, and we got it handed to us.  The better question will be, can we get back to the team we were mid season, where we dominated the league in TOS, 3rd down percentage and scoring percentage.  I don't care about our rating, but I do care about efficiency when we have the ball.  If we're going to be a power team, we have to be a power team and win those 3rd and 1s in the playoffs...

Going on to scheme, how does our team handle being down?  We've shown this year we are a very deliberate team that will pound away at you.  What will we change next year when we get down?  We can certainly do a one score game.  I think we're there now, but yesterday was a two score game, and we couldn't do it.  That's a problem that can be fixed, but does the organization have the guts to do it?

Getting on players, how much falls on them versus the play call?  Coaches create the game plan, players execute it.  Yesterday, there were several times where players figuratively dropped the ball and did not make a play.  It does without saying we need to improve our WRs, but if we had some real great kids come in, will the play call play to their strength?  Or are our players really that bad?

So when we look at everything, changes need to happen on the offensive side of the ball.  Can we some Chud back?  Not too cute, but enough to make some plays.  Say what you will about Chud, he did give us a fun offense to watch for two years before he ruined his career in cleveland.  Can we have a Chu-ula offense?  I hope the team is able to find that balance.

My problem with him, is the long developing routes he calls when we only need a few yards. Also I noticed the second half of the season most teams ran man defense and our Wr's cannot get seperation one on one. I understand why he calls run plays to keep the offense balanced but our oline does not get a consistent push for a power run game.

He will remain the OC for next year because of our record. Unless we upgrade the o-line and receiving core our offense will struggle even more next year.

yeah, with the right pieces we could go to the Superbowl...........our offense is efficient.

Getting rid of guys like bell and lafell will boost things on offense, guys complain about shula's play-calling but 3 simple mistakes killed drives. You can't blame that on the OC, it's been the same suspects all year causing the offense to flame out, not shula

Towards the end of the year our offense struggled because Shula doesn't know how to the set the tempo and get our offense in a rhythm. Coming out in the 2nd half in a playoff game the way he called it was pitiful. Then he used up the rest of the 3rd quarter on our 2nd drive after they went up another TD. Rezone issues, another reason our offense struggled at the end of the year. On the goaline twice, go to shotgun and spread the defense out and call a draw run or let Cam jump over. Him being average is why we should move on, a better innovative minded OC would do better. We all know he would be the biggest ? and he failed. I'm not going to use weapons as THE excuse cause if we get down there something must be right, but damn this was a issue with Tampa and it still exists
