OL, WR, CB

The whole OL was getting praised and pointed out First half.  Once they just stacked up and started bringing the house they really struggled, but Bring in Jake Matthews and you'll get same results.  5 blocking 4 is much easier than 5 blocking 6.  Just like 08 (with our big stud first round RT) just a 1 trick pony just load up the Box and camp out in the backfield

That right side was a jailbreak in the second half. They were both SO BAD.

I'll stomach another year of Shula IF our lack of offensive talent is addressed. Shula is a major component of the offenses inability to generate any kind of rhythm.

Our opening possession should be evident of that.

9 fuging minutes and no points. My fuging God, man.

I expect new names on the back of panthers jersey's out wide come next preseason

If you lurk around any football forum the fans' complaint is almost always about OL. Indy's OL is one of the best in the league as Luck barely get any pressure yet on the Colts' forum most of the complaint is about OL. People, defensive players get paid lots of money too and are 1st round(Clowney) pick just like OT. OL is not mean to hold on for 15 seconds on every play. Our OL is pretty good throughout the year. We only need depth and that comes in the later rounds. This team needs play makers. Best available pass catcher, whether TE or WR is what we need for this team.

Yes, yes, and yes. BPA at these positions. I feel better already knowing we have draft position edge over San Fran and Seattle, while still having the NFC South Division crown over our rivals. Peyton Manning winning the Lombardi would soften the blow even more.

Yes now if we Gross that changes things but it looks very possible he will be back next season.

There are loads of Cohwer Steeler nut huggers.  Well those Super Bowls they One.  They Built a Nasty D- We are Close DB's just holding us back, They had a Big Strong Arm Mobile QB- so do we, They had a a Terrible OL and QB hit more than any QB not named David Carr- Cam got hit buuut not that much they actually have been praised at times (until teams finally just load up and bring the house),  They went out and got the young QB weapons- We've have done the exact opposite.  Lock up Hardy  and bring Back Gross then stock Cam some Weapon and the D some DB's and we will be fine.

Again this OL is actually better than the Super Bowl team, they just dont have the constant pressure we have thanks to Young Smitty, Moose, and Proehl

We can build like our super bowl team and the steeler teams etc, or we can just ignore our biggest need and just grab an OT like we did in the past and end up like 08.  One trick Poney only gets you so far.

I completely agree.

I just dont believe that drafting two receivers is going to solve anything. Gettleman really need to invest in playmakers for Cam through FA + Draft. LaFail and Hixon should no way be allowed near Charlotte. Ginn is a 3rd/4th option and ST player. Smitty is aging quickly and add his injury to the list.

We need a vet receiver like a Golden Tate the least to help Cam out. The 1st pick of the draft should also go toward a receiver. That's my scenario I had in my post. Thats why going after an OT in the 2nd shouldnt be a problem. It would really fill our needs.

True if we can land WR 1st and solid FA, but still then just feel DBs are much much bigger need.

Our OL right now as bad as it looks is still better than our Super Bowl team, better than Any OL Big Ben Has ever had, No Worse than Baltimore had,  Not much worse than the Giants had.

All these teams had

1. Defense solid and good across the Board, We have the front 7 like Baltimore and Steeler, Secondary half our guys would be no more than ST players on those rosters.

2. Weapons for their young QB- All 3 Young QBs had 3+ guys who could get open and catch balls and open up the box for the run game.

If we can grab one of the top 2 corners 1st grab them then WR second.  But need 2 of WR and Corner via rounds 1-2 and FA.

We can keep building up a Balanced team, or we can keep it a One trick Pony like our 05 and 08 team where on best years can get you to the playoffs but bout as far as your going to get.

We lose Hardy though we are in trouble.  Our front 7 has been  what has carried the team lose that we are back with Tampa at square 1 pretty much.  RT can wait a few rounds, LT can be addressed in 2015 or whenever Gross finally decides to retire.

I wouldnt say that our OL now is better than the SB team (Steussie, James, Mitchell, Donnalley, Gross), but it is just as good. I've been a huge supporter of the OL this season. I just believe that it's really time to upgrade Bell and Gross is really, really old now.

I really want Hardy back, but I would not be surprise to see Gettleman let him walk. It'd may actually be the best for this team's future. Hardy is a beast but it'd be too much to have that much money tied up in two DEs. We could really use that money toward other positions in FA. Also, I think we can find a 1 year vet that can still contribute highly for Hardy: Tuck, Allen, Houston.

Gross is playing at a Pro-Bowl level still Kalil pro bowl level.  Our 3rd string guards still are opening some solid holes.  RT yes Bell is worse than Gross.  Cant remember how many of those guys were pro bowlers on that squad

Still regardless we could bring in Jake Matthews in but if we don't get Cam at least 2 more WR weapons, teams still blitz the poo out of us and stack the Box.  Matthews will look like a terrible pick Cam still will be hit and we will not make really any progress forward.  We will look like now like 08 like 05 one trick pony that is just good enough to make it to the playoffs.  DB's are still holding us back in the big games and is a must.  Bell may need upgrade but the WR core and DB's are needed more help right now in order to help the team than worrying about Bell.

This oline needs to be upgraded big time, but I could understand WR with the 1st draft pick. Another tall playmaker in the passing game is greatly needed. But after that, upgrade the oline.

Cam was exhausted and took too many hits today. The primary reason was this team's inability to run the ball. It's not fair that he has to be the rushing leader and be responsible for getting the ball to receivers. DWill, Mike Tolbert and JStew are all amazing RBs in this league - regardless of what you think of them. If none of those players could really get going this season, there's something wrong with the line/coaching/scheme/alloftheabove. I for one, am not comfortable putting Cam in the hands of, not one but two, injury proned Division II OGs.

Can't score from inside the one yard line, with Cam and Tolbert? Playcalling be damned, that should never happen. I give some credit to SF's defense, but this oline was whipped on the goal line today and most of the season.

If Hardy leaves this team will still be good.   If we have to pay Hardy and do not upgrade our WR through free agency then be prepared to expect the same season for next year-  most likely a worse season next year.   Where was Hardy at today??  nuff said--   When he goes out of the game nothing changes.   Now when CJ got hurt in the NE game they had their way with us.   Paying Hardy big money would be a stupid Hurney move and we are done with that.

idk our front 7 is what carried this team, Rivera and Gettleman are defensive guys.

Can grab a #1 WR in the first a young guy to grow with Cam, #2/3 via FA or 2nd round allowing Smitty to move to the slot.

Hardy today while didnt get a Sack it was pointed out all day on TV how Kaep kept getting in the back field and was getting less time than Cam was.  Kaep a mobile QB and had multiple guys Wide open to dump off to.  Our DB's were getting beat I'd hate to imagine if Kaep had sometime and launch them deep.

We lose Hardy we may improve but its going to need major upgrade in the secondary or our D that Carried this team on its shoulders is going to drop back to mid level 15 range D, then Cam's going to have to pull a Brady or Manning and carry the team.  Which is tough tough on a young QB.

True,   I want a dominating D line but breaking the bank for Hardy would not be a good move.   I don't want the Panthers strapped for cash every year.   If we let Gettleman have some extra cash every year to tweak our team then we could always be a contender.   Paying big contracts  IE-Hurney is a way a recipe for having a winning season every other year.    As a panther fan that was exhausting.
