To heal a wound....

i had that same feeling that it was over when you did that night against the cards. but when i mean "it's over" i didn't just mean for that game, i meant for that era. that was our last chance in the fox/jake era and i knew it. we all knew that window was closing and we were lucky to get that last moment squeezed in there. the team was old. it's players were old. it's philosophy was antiquated. when we lost, that was the end.

what's cool about this game is that this is just the beginning. no matter what happens tomorrow, this team led by cam, keek, and rivera is just getting started.

i feel like tomorrow will be a win for us, but if it isn't it will hurt, but not nearly as bad as '08 because i know that this team will be back and will be back better, angrier, faster, stronger, and more violent than before. what we have seen this year is only a glimpse of what is to come for the next 5-10 years, of that i am convinced.

First of all, really nice post Kurb. Very enjoyable and oh so true.

Rayzor, I had that exact same feeling after the Arizona game. We knew we had lost much more than one playoff game. You could see it, feel it, smell it. Something inside of us knew it was the end of an era.

And like you, I feel exactly the same about tomorrow. Win or lose, this team will be back with a vengence next year.

So 2 great posts in one thread, both putting into words what many of us felt but couldn't quite express. Nice job guys.

i was at that dreadful game and i remember just feeling so dumb. like how did i not see this coming and how could it have happened?

my entire sports confidence was shook.

i hope by the start of the 2nd quarter we are up 3 td's. i don't want a classic ending. i want a total destruction of a team i despise as much as i do a dentist.

For those who have not realized. I am king klong. The bar was then called tavern on 2nd. I watched Kurb take the pain as I took it myself. That season, I came up with my fangs mask. To show my teeth. It worked well for MNF which Kurb helped me score tickets too. It ended up being something to hide behind though as the wound was inflicted.

Like many country boy before me, my wounds were not stitched. They were left to heal on their own. I've been picking the scab, and it is finally gone. I now have a beautiful scar to show off on game days. One that shows I have been here all along. One that lures the hottest girls and scares the biggest boys. I will not sit down. I will not be quiet. I will defend my home and it's team. And I will see them win!

I was at that game.  I remember a great Huddle tailgate.  The city was hyped.  There was a full moon over Charlotte.  Then...all I remember is being numb.  It was just numb.

This team is different. These coaches are different.  This team is on a mission.  Panthers got this.

Not to sound whatever, but I was at that Saints game. It was the day before my mom passed away. It was the most fun I have ever had at a sporting event. And that game, forever will remind me of my mom.

It will, to me, probably forever be the must special game for me. For a lot of reasons, including that same feelings expressed by Kurb.

as die hard fans from the teams inception. its the seasons like this that make me not turn my back on them during the low years. the feeling of seeing the team you rooted for since day one finally having success after so many years of being at the bottom.nothing can describe that feeling.when cam hit that td pass to beat the saints.me and my little niece jumped up and marched through the house playing air trombone

that Arizona game was the reason why i found this site, because i needed help with dealing with that lost. i was pissed, ashamed, and just couldnt figure out how a team look that bad, and unprepared. they literally ran the ball down their throats on that first series, and stopped on the next series. that was bread and butter, why bail on the run so fast. played soft coverage on Fitz and Boldin and Kurt picked this defense apart.

i just hope this team is ready to play its most complete game today. you have to take your game up a level in the playoffs.if this team wants this respect/win, you have to go take it.
