Bay Area Writer: Kaepernick One-Read QB, Cam Actually Reads Defenses

did some digging to find that did ya? Yeah, I think there is a big difference between "hippy" and making fun of an issue that is filling the Supreme courts.

When hippies are fighting for their rights, and/or being beaten up and ostricized for their "way of life" i will see your point. Until then..keep digging.

My favorite part as well. And have you heard his press conferences? Awful. I've never seen Cam interviewed at his locker either or with headphones around his neck.

I particularly like how he contradicted himself after our first game.  He said that we didn't do much to stop them and they just didn't execute.  He then said that he only threw that interception at the end because they were in desperation mode. How do you get in desperation mode if the defense isn't doing anything to effect your offense?  If it would have been Cam last year...

His offensive options and talents are better than our own, yet and still his stats this season are only marginally better than Cam's.

In certain aspects of course. Kaep is a solid player. But in relation to Cam, he doesn't hold a fuging Candle.

Except on 3rd down, 4th down, 30+ yard passes, having a 1-8 point lead, or being down by 1-8 points.

Except in those certain clutch situations I just described.

Anyway, considering Cam has about 50 games under his belt to Kap's having less than 30, Kap has progressed nicely.  And now he has his favorite receiver back.

CK isn't better on 3rd downs this year

Also, Cam plays behind a worse OL, with a worse rush attack and worse recieving targets..... running an O that demands more from him

Glad you said that.  Direct from ESPN.com here are the stats for both guys on 3rd down this year:

QB1  61.6%  completion   7.97 yard per pass  6 td  4 int 21 sacks   89.6 QBR

QB2  63.4% completion    8.93 yard per pass  7 td  2 int 14 sacks  104.3 QBR

You tell me which is which.

Oh, and both qbs had their worst game of the season in week 10. They BOTH have to step up.  But CK is better on 3rd

need more than that....

for example....completing a pass on 3rd down doesn't mean you converted it.    Could just be a pointless completion that pads stats (and you punt)

also, need to add the number of 3rd downs converted with their legs.

I know which one Cam is above.  I also know more goes into it.   Carolina is actually much better offensively if you look at what they do PER DRIVE.  That gets lost in the national picture.  Per drive, Carolina generates better offense than people realize.  They do it b/c they are good on 3rd down....b/c Cam is.  Carolina's offense is deceptively better than most realize....but the national media goes off total yards.  There style of play essentially shortens games.....and test what teams are made of.  Carolina is good in yards AND pts per drive.  That is how they test opponents.......b/c not that many teams are better offensively on a per drive basis.

SF averages the 29th most plays per drive.....Carolina averages the 3rd most plays per drive.

You need to dig deeper into more stats.  Why do you think the above is true if Kapernick is better on 3rd downs?  Let that marinate for a moment.  More to it than just completion percentage (which actually doesn't tell you anything about converting and doing what you needed done)

more you say?

Tell me....if Kapernick is so much better on 3rd down then why do the Panthers have the 4th highest 3rd down efficiency % in the NFL?  You know, actually getting the yardage needed to move the chains?  SF for example is all the way down at 18th.

let that marinate for another moment.
