i think niner fans piss me off more then saints fans i didn't know that was possible. I mean we barely ever face them so it's understandable that i didn't know how big of c unts they were

49ers fans get this through your thick skulls. What we Panthers fans are trying to say here is. We don't care who didn't play the last time and who you got back now. Our team is one of the best in the NFL right now. We beat you,Pats, Saints with a split of games and so on. We have proven we can beat y'all with no problem. So take your excuses back your forums. We will see you on the field Sunday. Be prepare for a complete butt kicking of a life time.

Arizona was fighting for their playoff lives and had won ~7 in a row and had just beaten Seattle in Seattle. Arizona's defense late in the season was one of the top in the league and they were playing great football. I don't see it as a negative that we only won by three.

You are putting too much emphasis on overall passing yards. Adding a receiver of Crabs caliber (he isn't Megatron but he is a legit #1 target) doesn't allow the opposing defense to dominate the niners by just shutting down vernon and Anquan. We wont become Denver, but it makes the niners harder to shut down.

Like I said a 43 yard increase in production by adding Crab against a top 15 or so D doesn't look so rosey on the road against a top 5 D.

You failed to mention one of the most important differences from the first game, one even more obvious than Crabtree and Aldon Smith...

The first game was in San Francisco.

WE traveled across the US and beat you guys in your own back yard.  This time around you guys will be doing the traveling AND playing at 1pm Eastern no less, this amplifies the traveling when considering you are just getting back from Green Bay last week.

I also believe that you guys were coming off a bye at the time as well.  So not only did you lose to a team having to travel but also to a team that wasn't as well rested.  This time the tables are turned on that as well.  We have had two weeks to prepare, to rest, get ready while you guys were barely clinging to life against that vaunted Green Bay defense.

I also feel like our defense is playing better right now than they were in week 10...the defense is coming off huge games against Drew Brees and Matt Ryan and while they aren't as fleet footed as Kaep, they are far superior quarterbacks.  The defense will feed off the crowd and play at a level that wasn't seen in San Francisco, and let's face it, that's down right scary.

So to summarize, yes, I do believe that Aldon Smith and Crabtree are going to make a big difference in this game and I do feel that it will be close and we might certainly lose.  But I also think harping on those differences without acknowledging the ones I mentioned is short sighted and ignorant.  But hey, ESPN agrees with you, so you have that going for you.

Wait....Crabtree, Davis, and Smith are back?  WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN!?!?!  I haven't heard about this 24 hours a day on every sports network (and radio network), or read about it anywhere online more than 300 times.  49er fans conveniently forget that the first meeting took place IN San Fran, AND was coming off a bye week.  In the end

Biggest difference is that Cam is money at home and Kaepernick is sucky on the road.  Given the article where Dilfer said that on any play SF has only one active receiver and the rest are decoys, it doesn't matter that SF has this many good receivers if there is only that could get the ball.  Shouldn't be too hard to figure out who is getting the ball with plenty of time to gameplan and such a simplistic offense.

I will say this, which probably won't go over very well, BUT if we had lost to San Fran by 1 point without Smitty then we'd probably be saying the same thing right now trying to rationalize why we should win this time.  Players can make a huge difference in how you defend and what you can and can't do but I think home field advantage is just as important if not MORE important.

I just don't get why 49er fans seem to not care about that.  Especially considering how far they have to travel and the time that the game is.  I mean consider the difference when San Fran played Seattle at home and away.  Yes Crabtree played a role in helping them win the second time but I think being at home probably helped more.

Maybe I'm crazy

The more I research this the more it appears how little analyst really analyze..... SF played ATL 2nd to last game of the season, Car played ATL the last game. Should be a good comparison, right?! SF allowed 402 yards that game, Car allowed 307 yards. The biggest difference? SF played them at home Car was away.

Why are you obsessed w/ total yardage? Didn't CAR barely win, just like SF... It seems like this isn't a comparison that greatly favors CAR. It seems to be a wash. Also we had ~100 more total offensive yards than CAR, which you conveniently left out. And ATL was only in the game by recovering a lucky onside kick at the end of the game.

Total yards are important, but not the end all be all.

You don't get the whole home/away game thing, do you?

They can't agree with you because it would make them deal with the fact that they could very well lose. We not only beat them last time but did so in their house.  When you add that Kaepernick sucks on the road against good defenses it make their bravado even harder to understand.

I think it's going to be a very good match up. Not such an easy win that seemingly 90% of the analyst predict, they really haven't done their research. Crab has added some production, yes measured by yardage, but is it really all that everyone makes out? Not really because the production of Davis has went down as a result. Games with similar opponents actually "wash out" as you say, this is with Crab. So where are we playing at again?
