Week 10 Defense vs Playoff Defense

If Gore doesn't get cranked up, their done for.  What's great is that's the panthers strength.  Kaep is terrible without a run game to open things up in the pass game, and that's exactly what he's about to face.

Nobody mentions this but the 49ers have a bit of an advantage as they are a playoff hardened team.  This is the third year in a row that a vast majority of this team has won in the playoffs, so they know what it takes, and have the confidence of a team who has already been there.  Now not to say carolina will be pissing down their leg, but that the 49ers are just more seasoned and preparead for this situation.  Doesnt mean carolina wont play tough though, as the 49ers in their first playoffs in nearly a decade went to the NFCC.   But, this could make a real difference, the mentality of the 49ers. 

 

The 49ers have also lost post season games the past 2 years, so yall are hardly the patriots of the Early 2000's or the 90's Cowboys.

They only lose to the super bowl champions. That's about as good as it gets if you have to lose.

We handled offenses like the Saints and Patriots....the SF offense isn't even in the same league as those two.

It does not fuggin matter.. This is now...... Its who wants it more, all this 'experience, Ric Flair, playoffs last 3yrs, week10 IOU' bullshit is just that.

Because i think having playoff experience vs a team who doesnt being an advantage, that makes me a homer?  There is nothing soft about a team who has 'been there' playing a team who hasnt.  I didnt say it would influence the outcome of the game.  It's as much as an advantage for the 49ers as carolina playing at home is for them.   Neither of those two factors will probably end up influencing who wins, but both clearly offer advantages in given situations.   Most noteably because the playoffs are a whole other animal compared to the regular season, and the 49ers have a bunch of guys who already know.  That's all that is, and that offers an advantage, whether you agree or not.  If NFL players are saying it, i will go with them over what you say on here.

 

Your right, you have playoff experience at losing and that will def help you understand defeat come Monday.

Our 03 team had a lot of guys who hadn't played a playoff game as well. We went to the Super Bowl.

Experience is good, but not a game changer. Sorry.

Same thing with our team in '11. Stupid Kyle..

Having a 3-1 playoff record, Kap's 49ers are more experienced in winning.

I'll add this point. I week 10 you didn't have to deal with Crabtree and Davis (through 2/3 of the game). When that happened you doubled Boldin and did one on one coverage with Kyle Williams (scrub) and V. McDonald (back up tight end). That allowed your defense to pin their ears back with seven in the box and blitz and clog up the running lanes. This time there are formidable receivers that you have to contend with and I like the coverage match ups against you secondary. You will need to adress the passing game more in this game which will hinder your opportunity to crowd the box.

 

 

Still it is on the road and this would be their third road game in a row against quality opponents the question is do the 49ers have enough gas in the tank.
