@FO_VVerhei: Six DBs in the NFL this year had at least 3 sacks. Half of them (M.Mitchell, Q.Mikell, C.Munnerlyn) played for Carolina.

Verhei was the author of the Carolina chapter of FO's Football Almanac.

So is this more player or scheme? To me it seems to somehow be connected with Jim Johnson's philosophy...

Yea I'd say it's heavily the scheme but Capt has always been pretty good at everything except actual coverage. Good at getting to the QB when blitzing, good run support, solid at breaking on passes for INTs/deflections and deadly when he gets the ball in his hands. Mitchell seems well built for blitzing as a DB also.
