IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO SHULA

Execution.  Cam must be accurate early. In the games we dominated offensively the common theme was Cam started off the game sharp.  Byron Bell and Chandler must hold.  As much as we use them as blockers we have to get the RB's out the backfield.  More short passes to the RB's the better.  Star,Dwan, Short must get up the middle pressure on Kapernick.  The Kraken must be released and CJ must be at 100% and not the 80-90% he has been the last few weeks.  The good Lafell and Ginn must show up.  Smitty is Smitty. TD and Kuechly are givens.

 

The play calling is hardly ever been a real issue except the wildcat that we run inexplicably every game.  If we were ever to pass our of that formation. I am sure someone would be wide open.  We just have to play up to our potential.  Fortunately we have had big meaningful games this season.  The SF game, the NE game,  both Saints game and the ATL game to get the #2 seed.  Other than the Saints game we have done enough to win and that's really all it comes down to.

 

Everyone wants to win with the defense dominating and the offense humming.  However other teams are playing too.  Just winning is all that matters.  Our offense has showed up when it had 2 except for 2 games all year.  Meaning when we absolutely had to score we did it.

Totally agree! I was actually thinking the only bad thing about the panthers getting to the playoffs is Shula will be coming back next year, I know that sounds tough I mean were in playoffs but honestly how much of that is down to the offense, some of his playcalling is atrocious and continues with the wildcat crap! We rank last in throws over 20yards all year only thrown like 32 so you can eliminate probably one of cams greater weapons his arm strength! Which is why primarily we bought ginn in to blow the top off of defences that hasn't happened! Honestly we cannot afford many three and outs Sunday because there offense will put up points and we don't want to be chasing the game all day long! If I'm gettleman this game here is Shula proving to me he deserves his job but let's see

Finally someone that isn't in a smart ass mood that can comprehend what was written. 

 

If we execute and the game plan is solid we should dominate this game.   But if Shula doesn't figure out some way to get some points it is going to be a long afternoon. 

 

No matter how good we execute if the game plan and play calling suck.  We might not pull it out of our ass like we did again the Jets, Aints and Falcons.  We can just blame it on playoff jitters instead of putting the blame on Shula.

 

And YES if we execute and still look anemic then Shula should get the blame.

49ers will count on us just running the ball or doing little dinks and dunks.  Their LBers are almost as fast as ours..  They will keep those plays to very short gains.        They won't send most of their guys into coverage out of fear,  like they did with Rodgers and the Packers.         They will stack the box and dare Cam to beat em with his arm.          While they hope and pray that Shula continues to be ultra-conservative. 

 

I would love to see an air assault on the back end of their defense..         At least test the waters a little bit,  before going back to the normal routine of run>run>pass

We are 7th in the league in pct of passes attempted over 20 yards but 18th in completion pct in those attempts. Its not for lack of trying.

It comes down to execution.

Yeh and were ranked last at attempts for throws over 20yards! As bad as the media wants to say cams second season was last year and how bad we started the season we had a 12th ranked offense this year were 28th and that's mainly down to conservative calling and lack of explosive plays! My point is were gona need everything to throw at the Niners Sunday and a deep threat is a big option with cams arm because they will just stuff the run and the dink and dunk lall day long! I think Shula needs to get creative because he ain't shown me anything this season to say he's what cam needs as a future oc

Shula's name will only come up after Sundays game if we lose and be on "out" for our lack of execution

Most of those wins were on the defence! And I'm sure I could name many critical plays cam made with his legs to get third downs to set up game winning field goals and game winning drives, along with the throws against the saints that got us into the playoffs where he's being hit in the face as he throws the ball bcos again his line can't keep him clean most of the time this season, we have a talented qb who has many weapons why not utilise them all because if you think we will beat Niners and maybe then Seattle and possibly the Super Bowl with the rough ass play calling that's got us to this point then your wrong, Shula said he has sat and watched all tape of the season, wel he needs to evolve this Sunday and throw everything at San Fran!

Fair point. It's the responsibility of a coach to position their players for success i.e. playing to strengths, minimizing weaknesses etc...
