If a skins fan were to come here and do a search of David Gettis, he'd leave thinking they just signed Jerry Rice 2.0

I still don't quite get why we cut him given what our other options are, but meh.

I really believe that Gettis ended up in Rivera's dog house because he was just still rusty from sitting out due to injury. Rivera perceived that Gettis was either lazy, incompetent, or both. Rivera lost patience with Gettis. Once he was in Rivera's dog house (that night we saw Rivera fussing him out on the sidelines last season), that was it.  The effort guy with little proven production and no intangibles, as well as G-man's boy, got the nod over the more talented Gettis.

 

Rivera really laid an egg with that.

Looks like McDermott to the Redskins is a done deal.  David Gettis is there now.

Good for him.  I liked Gettis and I hope he gets a chance to continue his career and contribute for them.  With that being said, he's on another team now and I won't say waste anymore of my time thinking about him.

Connection with RG3 is there. All the luck to him. Skins are pretty deep at receiver though. Garcon, Moss, Morgan, Hankerson...he may struggle to see the field
