Wide Receivers so far

There are many sleepers in this draft, so I would not be too surprised to see us draft 2.

Beckham (not a sleeper) could become the first round selection if we fail in re-signing Ginn. Good returner, good WR.

I really like McNutt---I am thinking he and King win the #3, #4 jobs.

Smitty needs to go to the slot and they need to limit him to about 65% of the snaps.

SLEEPERS: Hoffman, Coleman, Landry could be sleepers in this draft. Abbrederis could be a very good pro. Davis from Texas needs a second look. Lotta talent on the board.

Overrated? Lee (a bit), Cooks, Matthews (a little), and maybe even

I disagree a bit here.

Dont see Lee or Matthews being overrated. I believe that they are two of the safer recievers in this draft. Im a huge fan of Odell but if I really have to say then Beckham is the overrated prospect here. It's a high risk vs. high reward with Beckham here imo.

Allow me to provide my reasons.

Matthews:  Hands were questionable in SR Bowl practices.  Speed also questionable.  Did not really do much in the all star game.  Some have a first round grade on JM.  I do not.  In a draft deep at WR, he is a second rounder, IMO.

Lee:  He is solid when healthy.  His frame is a bit slight and some question his ability to take a hit consistently.  Is he willing to run the entire route tree?  Some NFL scouts question his willingness and/or toughness to do it.  While I think he could be over-scrutinized because he might be the best pure wr in college football, I am losing my faith in him.

Beckham is a six footer with 4.45 speed and can return kicks.  His hands are pretty solid.  He does not always play as big as he is, but he was a force while sharing the rock with Landry.

Nobody is talking about Allen Robinson. Watch him be the gem of the draft.

I REALLY like Paul Richardson out of Colorado. He is a legitimate deep threat with a great pair of hands. He is also very agile and can make plays after the catch.

He could be a nice value in the 3rd round.

i wouldnt be mad if we picked him up in the 3rd. he reminds me of Mike Wallace. he went to the same high school and played with Robert Woods and Marqise Lee.

Now, youre thinking too much like a draft expert. Youre basing too much on the combine stuffs and very little on what those kids did as college football players.

I like the whole combine thing bc its fun to watch but at the end of the day I still go back to the tapes (I dont have the tapes but you get what Im saying).

Theres been plenty of talk on Robinson. Majority of the mocks has Robinson mocked to Carolina. Allen Robinson and Paul Richardson are my two least favorites.

I do not really think there is such a thing as a draft expert---WRs are tough to gauge.  You are right--I am interested in what they can contribute to the Panthers and I do not care that much what they did in college.  (Dwayne Jarrett, for example, had some measurables and characteristics that made him a questionable pro-which is why he dropped to us in the second round-- that were before the character issues surfaced.  He was pretty good in college.)

I am looking forward to the combine-counting down the days. Something is wrong with me.

I agree, i wouldnt be too excited if either of the landed here. I would take Cooks, Beckham, Landry, Adams, and Matthews all over Robinson.

Just curious, why don't you like Robinson? I like Robinson but I like hearing people's reasons why they don't like him. Maybe I'm missing something.

I'm a fan of Robinson. I think that he could come close to being that of boldin. But, he started to slow down with injuries in the middle of the year. I worry that he can handle 16 nfl games.

Other than that, though, he could be one of the better WRs in this draft.

Don't get me wrong I think he'll be a fine player but he doesn't have #1 WR potential imo.  He doesn't have that quick burst like some of the elites, he's more of a straight line runner.  He's an average blocker at best, some plays I've seen of his he flat out takes the play off.  He also isn't as good of a jump ball guy as I would like him to be with that size.  Something just doesn't sit right with me thinking about him in a panther uniform.
