Wide Receivers so far

I think this about KB--if he checks out, he is going top 20. If he runs slow or the character concerns (work ethic, mainly) become serious problems, I am not sure we risk it. Some teams are either going to kick themselves for not drafting him or one team will kick itselves for drafting him. He reminds me of the 2 WRs the Lions took before drafting Calvin. And he reminds me of Calvin.

Abbrederis is ready to play. His upside is limited, but he is the type who gives you 12 years at a high level. he catches everything, and he gets open.

KB isnt going to light it up at the combine. The dude is a fast football player on the field, not 40yard fast. I really still dont see him being a top20 pick, but Im not saying he wont be. I just believe that scouts will drool over other players after the combine.

just curious as to why you dont like cooks. Hes a projected first rounder and you have him behind a 4th or 5th rounder

Got bored today and started checking out some other receiving stats for this class.  One of the biggest things for our offense has been redzone passing and targeting a big RZ threat that could be the next big step for this offense..  When we are 20 yards from the goal line, Cam threw 17 TDs to 3 INTs, within 10 yards he had 9 TDs and 0 INTs, now imagine that with an actual RZ target.  Which brings me to what I was looking up, WRs and their ability to convert in the RZ.  Of course you'll have to consider QB play (or lack thereof) and scheme when looking at these numbers, but interesting nonetheless.

For this I looked at their splits from 9 yards to the Goal and get a feel for how well they could convert in the RZ.

Sammy Watkins TD splits match up with his consistency to be a threat from anywhere, in Goal to Go situations, he caught 2 passes for 2 TDs.

Mike Evans - 4 catches, 3 TDs

Jordan Matthews - 3 catches, 1 TD.

Allen Robinson - 1 catch, 1 TD.

OBJ - 1 catch, 1 TD

Brandin Cooks -  12 catches, 8 TDs.

Davante Adams (led the nation in TD receptions) - 12 catches, 8 TDs

Kelvin Benjamins - 4 catches, 4 TDs

Brandon Coleman - 2 catches, 2 TDs.  Also of note, Coleman only had 4 TDs on the season, all 4 of them came within the opponents 20 yard line.

Obvious players that stand out, Cooks and Adams both with high catch and high TD numbers in the RZ, then KB and Coleman being the big bodied receivers that both did well converting every catch for a TD.

Adams had some great endzone fades this past year.  He's someone to keep an eye on.

Yup, saw quite a few fades he got in good position for.  I think it was Daniel Jeremiah that compared him to Keenan Allen, won't be as good as Allen but if he makes the same fall to a mid round I can see it being a great value pick, but he has good hands, decent speed, and polished route running.  Definitely someone to keep an eye on in the 3rd round.

Dude if we get like Robinson/Beckham in the 1st, an OL/CB/DE in the 2nd and he falls to us in the third, that'd be a quality scenario.  I'm excited to follow Devante through the draft season.
