Mayer Hawthorne

Hey guys just thought I would share some awesome music with those of you who haven't heard of Mayer Hawthorne. It is sort of shocking that he is not as famous as he should be but he is well on his way.

 

One of my favorite all time genre's is Motown and Hawthorne is sort a modern soul adaption to that. If you like Steely Dan he has had a major influence on MH as well. I went to the Orange Peel in Asheville to see him a couple months ago and I have to say it was one of the best and most professional shows I've seen. 

 

Literally all of his songs are good. How long he can keep it up will be something to see. He has easily become my favorite artist at the moment. I thought I would share because if you like him he will be playing at Amos' Southend in February.

He toured with Chromeo a year or so ago.  I caught their show in Oxford, Mississippi when I was there for grad school.  Love finding lesser-known artists that produce good music.  He has some really good stuff.
