RG3: "Boy Emperor"

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

i've thought about this as well and has always been in the back of my mind when reading this stuff.

like this could all be fuging bullshit. Like the Cam pro-bowl story with Ray Lewis (and then a month later Cam is one of few players invited to his paintball charity).

I'm always skeptical of the media. But one thing that made me cringe and think maybe some of the stories are more true than not is the Romo thing. "Don't let anybody tell you that you aren't a great QB." I imagined Cam saying something like that to another qb. and lol'ed.

Cam goes all weird, shy kid when he talks to other qbs (tom brady, peyton, brees). Cam is a fan of the game and players. Rg3 is a fan of himself.

Very true, thats why I believe a lot of this (whether true or not) he brought upon himself. It is fine rope to walk and I hope he learns to shut is mouth and focus on becoming a better qb and teammate through all this.

We need to slow down on RG3, people tried to do the same thing to Cam.

Doing some further research and digging deeper, I believe there is a hyper exaggeration on the medias part concerning RG3 and his behavior.

Yes he has done and said some idiotic things however his teammates seem to be behind him and have refuted the reports that have come out about him.

We should be the last fanbase to judge, ESPECIALLY considering what the slimy fugheads in the media tried to do to Cam.

RG3 is no where near perfect and still has much growing up to do, but it is clear someone is trying to destroy the kid

Here's the difference...

Earlier this season, you heard more than one teammate talking about unresolved issues with RG3.

Case in Point: Santana Moss talks about RG3

It's one thing when it's just media, but when public statements start coming from teammates, the problem is real.  Add in that Griffin was a media darling for pretty much his entire rookie season, so the "out to get him" theory doesn't really fit.

On the flipside, any time teammates have spoken about issues with Newton, the narrative has always been "we talked about it and it's fixed."  But as the article in the OP states, there are still complaints coming from within the locker room.

That's why this story has legs.

I sincerely hoped he learned is lesson, remember things can get blown out of proportion too...

If Snyder continues to enable him, it'll be difficult. And it'll make the head coach's job near impossible.

Word was Mike Shanahan never wanted RG3 to begin with. Gotta wonder if that plays a role.

They signed Jay Gruden and he doesn't come across as the type of guy that is putting up with too much bullshit.

hope that changes some, Garcon came on NFL Network and Sportsnation and indicated that a lot of this may fall on Shanahan

Sad truth: He'll put up with whatever BS the owner condones.

The key here isn't Gruden.  It;s Snyder.  Whomever he throws his weight behind wins.

If he's got any football smarts, he'll stand behind his head coach.

But to be clear, prior history doesn't give me a lot of confidence that Snyder has all that much in the way of football smarts.

I've said many times that Newton has one of those personalities that's easily misunderstood.

People like that can be very polarizing, and a quick encounter with them can leave a bad first impression.

Those who get to know them and understand them better over time get them.  Others, not so much.

I don't think you have to spend a lot of time around Newton to like him.

I think, certain people who are predisposed to not liking him (by what was already written and they believe), only exacerbate situations. What's not to like?

He smiles. He's charismatic and personable. And he works hard at his craft, and love kids. Watching Newton do the Superman TD, and his first down act, is not spending time around him. I find people who actually meet, like him even more.

Is Cam really anymore much different than Johnny Manziel from a excitement standpoint (with out the self confessed drinking and carousing)??

IMO, when the majority of those who seem to have issues with Cam's personality is largely from on group of people, that is telling me something.
