nfl to increase # of wildcard spots in the playoffs

Recommended Posts

I vehemently defended the reasoning behind adding another team or so in each conference for the playoffs when it was discussed earlier in the year. And I will do the same here.

Those against it are acting like thymey're banning the forward pass, lol.

Think about it... you're cool with it because we're in the playoffs this year due to how it shook out. Now, imagine if we reversed roles with the Cardinals. There is absolutely no reason they should've missed the playoffs and yet, the Packers got in based off of the records.

Additionally, think of the excitement that would've been had the two years prior to this season for us if there was another playoff berth at stake. We would've been in contention for it in our late-season runs to .500, so we would've still had something to play for aside from pride, and fans would still be on the edge of their seats through week 17.

Is repeating the same Cowboys "joke" 10 times really funny?

Yes, yes it is.  There is no limit on Cowboys jokes.  Fug those a-holes!

The irony is that if this was in effect this year, the Cowgirls still wouldn't get it.  It would have put the Cardinals in.

I prefer reseeding. I understand that the Cardinals were an exceptional team that missed the playoffs due to amount of teams allowed as a wildcard. But, that's the insanity and unpredictability of the playoffs and NFL. They didnt end up beating the teams that mattered.

I do however think the seeding is bogus. I'll be disappointed if they don't at the very least reseed. And I will also never forgive the NFL if they are doing this in response to Jerry Jones complaining.

It's a start.  There is no reason a team that finishes 11-5 should miss the playoffs while a team at 9-7 or worse makes the playoffs as a Division winner.

The reason would be that life isn't fair, and sometimes you get screwed.

I have no problem with this.

boooooo!

we're almost to the point where 1/2 of the teams get into the playoffs.  that waters down the whole thing.  Just like with adding more teams to the NCAA tourney.  By adding more, you're not increasing the number of quality teams.  The best teams are already in.  The only teams you're adding are more mediocre teams, which dilutes the quality of the tournament.  bad move.
