What 49ers Fans are Saying

The Run Game in all has been prepared for. That's how they lost the last time. Vic isn't the Philly D Coordinator.

that run by Carolina wasn't full blown... 49ers did give up that td and  by will and they certainly gave up a db when Tolbert murdered him head on! Guess you were right. good luck prepping because that wasn't the full effect! Just watched the rewind of that game not long ago and the 9ers took a L because that Defense caused  someone to not go through his reads properly. He was emulating David Carr often. Not saying Kaep is a bad QB but he sucks and is certainly guilty of what they accused Cam of in reference to lack of skill. The question is will Kaep go through his reads because the Panthers are NOT Green Bay. on the other hand, Cam better keep the ball down and not throw wildly. Also his o line must come correct. If that run game wears the 9ers defense down, Cam will finish them off with minimal receivers. easier said than done but this is real talk. running is key this game.

Um, Atlanta Falcons had the #5 Defense Last year..so, can't help SF made em look unimpressive.

Packers were #11. Ravens won with the #12 Defense.

Yeh, Panthers Defense is stronger than those, True. Up there With Seattle Defense he beat at home earlier, which is #1.

You're not gonna look all that impressive against top Defenses, ala Cam.

It's about gettin' the win.

Falcons had the 24th ranked D last year....Ravens were 17th.

that is reality

I was here the week before. Came back to eat crow and nobody dished it out.

I gave nothing but respect to you guys before and I will do the same this week. I have no choice, you guys are a dangerous team.

I would much rather play teams like the saints and packers than the panthers all day. Toughness is the reason why. This team is built very similarly to the 9ers.

I predicted last time a low scoring game I think I said 17-10 9ers or something. Both defenses played well but not so much on offense.

There are plenty of differences come this time around.

We have crabtree, Davis and Aldon smith all back.

While you guys have a banged up Steve smith.

If those statements weren't true i would definitely favor you guys being in Carolina and all

First off I would like to say that I'm the new guy here and look forward to getting to know you guy's/gals and talk a little trash about our favorite team in the league, the Carolina Panthers. My name is Jeremiah and I live in Columbia, SC. Hello all.

Next I would like to jump right into why the media/journalist/the rest of the world and 99% of niner fans think they are going to travel 3,000+ miles, come into the Bank and beat us that easily? I guess the answer is Michael Crabtree who can do it all on his own. Joey 9ers, you guy's had VD and Aldon Smith played the first game. Smith was playing in his first game back from his ordeal and VD was knocked out and concussed halfway through the 2nd quarter, roughly.

We also were missing one of our starting safties in Godfrey along with a starting LB and I believe a starting D lineman in that game often playing 3 and 4 rookies on the defensive side of the ball (Klein, Lester & White) We did our job, came to your house and won the ball game 10-9.

Your offense average for the year only 7, yes 7 more yards per game than our offense did, not impressive. If we switch to the defensive side of the ball we averaged 15 yards less per game given up on defense, had 22 more sacks than your scary defense (60 we led the league), more INT's and we gave us 1.9 less PPG (15.1 Carolina & 17 San Fran).

I guess what I'm trying to say is I think we have the edge if you look at the numbers which is what EVERYBODY has been doing but niners fans. They have been whining that they were hurt and all this and that, guess what? So were we and we had to travel.

I'm glad the media is gasing this San Fran "freight train" up and sending it out here to Charlotte to get a backwoods a$$ "whuppin"

Nice to meet you guys and hope to talk to you soon.

Why would you compare the Panther's D to any other team when you've already played against us in your house?  Kap's worst game of the season.

You're not fooling anyone with that false bravado.  You're worried about our defense... terrified.  You are either a fool, a liar or missed the game entirely earlier this season.  Go back and watch.

Do you understand what's happening?  You are coming into our house to play the same defense that spanked you earlier this season.

But, but, they now have Crabtree....we might as well forfeit...

First off, from what I've been seeing it's been pretty 50/50 on people picking the Panthers and the 49ers. I think both these defenses are too good to be blown out so the game is going to be close.

As far as the injuries go, yes, Aldon Smith, Vernon Davis and Eric Reid all played in the first game, partially. Aldon Smith just got back from missing 5 straight games. He played less than half the snaps, and was clearly not himself yet. Vernon Davis and Eric Reid played less than a half of football.

The first time, Godfrey might have been out, but he's out for the year. The players we have will all be playing in this game, can't say the same for Godfrey. Also, Chase Blackburn was out. Other than that, you guys were pretty healthy for that game.

This time, Crabtree is back and other than Bruce Miller, our FB, we are pretty healthy. Another big thing, STEVE SMITH is out. If fully healthy, I think he's the best receiver on the field, but it's not sounding good for him. That's huge. Coming from a 49er fan, when your QB loses his number one target, it hurts the passing game.

As far as the rankings go…… I don't put too much into the regular season rankings for a lot of those categories. We are both close on offense and defense. Elite defenses with ground and pound offenses that have dynamic quarterbacks who don't necessarily rack up the yards every game but win games.

The thing that scares me about Carolina is their ferocious d line that gets after the QB better than any front 4 in the league. Not to mention their two pro bowl linebackers who are among the most athletic LB's in the league.

The difference, to me, is that this time we have our #1 WR back, and the health of our 2 key players that missed the 2nd half (Reid, Davis). Aldon smith is finally getting back to his usual self. Also, the STEVE SMITH injury. If he isn't able to beat guys one on one, that would be bad for you guys.

I don't really care what sportswriters or ESPN has to say about who is going to win because I know it means nothing. We'll see on Sunday

Fans of both teams will always be 'cocky', because everyone takes pride in who they support/love and if you weren't 'cocky'...I'd ask if you were truly a fan yourself!

Suggesting one team's fans are 'cocky' or 'arrogant' is nothing but an opinion..and is open for debate!

I'm not going to come out and say one team is going to win over the other, simply because there are too many factors to consider...

Whoever wins will be based on who plays better defense...gets a few lucky breaks here and there...controls the clock..aka 'time of possesion..and of course, takes advantage of each and every opportunity!

On a side note: I'm appalued that a Panther fan, who appears to be a MARINE would have the balls to say the following to ANYONE!

"...We don't have any hospitality to opposing fans only violence.." (username = usmcpanthers).."

If we shut down Brees, Graham, Colston, Stills, Sproles,Thomas, Ingram, then we can shut down Kap, Davis, Crabtree, Boldin, and Gore.

And don't give me that, "the Saints suck on the road!!!!" crap.

Seriously..if a team is historically sh**y on the road...why would you take pride in beating them...regardless if that team won a Super Bowl in the past?

Sorta sounds like all the Seahawk fans who were boasting about Blanking the Cardinals last year...when the Cards came into the game 0 and 8...I mean, is it NOT a given that a good team should pretty much man-handle an 0-8 team or is there a memo somewhere I didnt' get that suggests otherwise?

For as good as each team is...and for the amount of players (on both sides) who didn't play last time...yes...a win is a win..but you guys won by 1 point....!!!!

I don't see that happenig again...regardless of who wins!

    • Did I mention that he was on worse teams?  Yes.  Do QBs alone win games?  No.  Did Cam, on a much better team with some awesome defenses ever have 2 consecutive winning seasons?  No.  So now you are cherry picking,  If the overall stats are similar, you take a look at him.   I told you that you look at his skill set---but you wanted to tell me that he sucks and mentioned performance.  I just presented performance--and his numbers are very similar to Cam Newton's numbers--a player most call the best Panther QB ever--and I agree.  By the way, Fumbles are evidence of how bad his OL has been--so you are saying that a QB in a situation worse than Cam's who has stats and physical abilities very similar to Cam's should not be given a look when you have Bryce Young at QB?  You are going with that story because you simply talked your way into a corner and now you are trying to save face.  No good GM would do what you suggest because "he sucks."  Sorry, but the facts do not support you.  But no matter what eye-opening details I provide, there are some who are going to go their Google machines to try to find some reason to support an ignorant approach to developing the QB position.  You ignored the similarities to Cam and went cherry picking.  I know what you are doing--but I am only suggesting (as I have stated before) that we bring him in as one of three approaches to resolving the QB issue. Compete with Bryce and draft a QB. Basically, I am suggesting that Jones has the potential to replace Dalton and compete with Young.  He is a battered stock that could get better in a better situation--that is human nature.  Instead, I am called a Daniel Jones lover and superfan.  That is good debate--But a real sign of immature thinking is the inability to LOGICALLY consider alternative perspectives--which is actually a characteristic of intelligence.
    • I don’t get this, I know that is the popular thought process but I just don’t think it’s true.  For instance head to head last year the ACC had a winning record against the SEC.  The SEC had a losing record in bowl games. This year so far the head to head is 2-3 SEC and that’s with a fluke Vandy win in week one.  I see the ACC taking another head to head winning season after next week.  The SEC is mostly hype with 3 good teams, in my opinion.  But to say any ACC team would get exposed I believe is a stretch
    • What the hell?  How is presenting Cam's stats hating him?  The point is not to hate Cam, it is to show you how similar Jones is to him and why you take a look at him.  I mentioned Jones has the skill set to take a look--the response is, "look at his 5 years of performance."  So I compare him to the greatest QB in franchise history, and the stats are similar--while Jones was in a worse situation.  Now that is "hating?"  Come on.  This is a meritless, ignorant, personal attack because you are wrong.  Just stop it.  You all attack the poster when you have nothing.  So saying "we should consider a guy with similar stats and size to Cam Newton" is now hating Cam and making me a Jones super fan- that is just stupid.
