No, but he does have the potential to get behind defenders and if Cam is able to air it out Ginn has a shot. My favorite thing about Ginn is the excitement of seeing him with 10 yards of green ahead. You never know how far he will get because once he turns the corner he can break away.

That said, Vernon is your best receiver. Boldin is basically a decoy to take attention away from Crabtree. If we hold Gore like the packers did and keep Kaep in the pocket like we did last game then we will win the game. If not for the Green Bay safety and DE crashing inside on that third down it is likely that you punt the football. Luckily Our players are more aware of the situation than that.

I think a bye week is just what the doctor ordered for this young team with Rookie starters. To say Star,Shrot, and White did not hit the wall would be lying. Need a break for the Rooks. 

 

I don't disagree... the bye came at a good time for health reasons, esp with Smitty down.

 

My concern is motivation and all that...  I'm hoping that missing a week didn't get their eyes off the prize.  They're making all the right noises, so that's promising...

Every damn day. Bold in is an old man who is washed up. In a conventional offense based on time Boldin would be useless. He doesn't separate until the play breaks down and Kaep, as well as Cam, Wilson, and Luck, are all the masters of extending plays.

In all seriousness I'd like to have both of them. We need a big guy who knows how to go up and gets the ball. Right now Smitty and Olsen are our only guys capable of what Boldin does in terms of attacking the ball.

 

I always thought the Panthers were doomed because they kept all thier money tied up in the backfield which remained to be true until this season.

 

Ofcourse this is from the perspective of a fan of a different team who doesn't really follow the Panthers.

wow......  Boldin has over 1000 yards on the season and 7 TDs I beleive and what has Ginn done?  Washed up old man my rear.  The homerism is think on this board for sure.  i understand sticking up for your team, but this is crazy. People saying Olsen is better than Davis?  WOW....  Others including college in order to make Cam look better.  And you wonder why nobody gives you credit.

I think Cam elevates his play, and the return of Smitty has us putting up out typical points at home (23-24), and I think our D is good for holding SF under that.

Regardless, you are right about the 49ers developing talent at the WR position. Jenkins was a huge dissapointment but Patton looks promising.

 

Crabtree a reach? Yeah, ok. Aside from injury issues he is easily a top 10  #1WR in the league.

Cam is a better QB than Colin. Davis is obviously a more complete package than Olsen and Boldin is obviously better than Ginn. However, they don't play against eachother so the argument is moot.

Kaep vs Kuechly and our Dline. Davis vs. Davis. Our Dline vs your oline. These are the things that matter. But Cam really seems like the most obvious choice as to who is the more complete player.

It seems like a good idea to cut one of them loose and to pick up Ka'reem from Arizona at this point. I don't know what sort of impact we can make with the 32nd pick but I'm confident in Gettlemen.

Olsen's probably pretty close to Davis, but Ginn is nowhere near Boldin.  I think Davis is better, but it's not that much of a gap.  But none of that matters at all since it's about the defenses each are facing...

Cam has had better years, but this year I think they are even.  The numbers do not lie.  They are almost identical.  Cam has a couple more TDs, but also more INTs.  Everything is about even.

 

Olsen isn't close to Davis.  Don't kid yourself.  Vernon has more yards on less attempts and 7 more TDs.  There is no argument.
