New NFL Draft format in 2010

The way this new formate will effect the fans is debatable. Some will love it, some will hate it. I for one think it will be nice to have something football related to watch on Thursday and Friday night in April but thats just me.

As far as the effect it will have on the teams and the draft is much more interesting to me. So much willing and dealing goes on between Saturday and Sunday night and thats just for positioning for the 3rd thru 7th rounds. Now that teams will have close to 24 hours between their 1st and 2nd round pick, the draft could become even more interesting with trades.

Also, making the 1st and 2nd round a "prime time event" could give those draftees leverage in trying to get larger contracts should a rookie cap not be in place.

So, yeah, the new formate that is suppose to be for the fans may be more of a henderence for draft parties and such but the actual effect on the teams may prove to be very entertaining.

It will cut down on draft parties, but the NFL doesn't care if you get together and drink. They only care that they have two different sessions in Prime Time. The Saturday session will only be watched by serious fans, so it doesn't matter that it's not in Prime Time. But there will be a lot of casual interest in the Thursday and Friday sessions...

This is TERRIBLE. Goodell is THE WORST! No more all-day draft party with a keg, I guess. It was the only day during the offseason for that. BOOO!

Where you been? And the first thing you found to join back up to comment on is Goddell taking away a day to have a kegger?
