One glaring Kapernick flaw

When you have Vernon Davis and boldin consuming double teams you should be able to find your 2nd and 3rd reads.

You could make the read at the LOS, see the cb lined up over top and notice the safety shade over the top of your primary read (seen it the 49ers a couple of times this year)

You turn your secondary read into your primary read and then go to your 3rd read and then if you have the time go back to your 1st read, if not you check it down to the safety valve.

lol I understand you probably didn't watch the 49ers as much as I did when Kyle Williams was a starter. Williams would literally catch the ball and the db would take it away from him. It got so bad that in the Titans game Colin, after he threw it, ran as fast as he could to Williams because he KNEW he was going to fumble it.

Luckily Colin was right and recovered the fumble.

Lafell is not a number two WR on a good offensive team (unless Brady or Manning is his QB).

Williams needs not to be in the NFL (irregular less of who the QB is)

If Manning or Brady were qbs, Lafells ass would be cut by now

mcdonagul or whatever will just skip over that part because it doesn't fit his narrative and number skews even though we have all proven why kaep's numbers are up there with other qbs.

one thing the panthers organization can be proud of offensively is they didn't baby Newton. They forced him to become a better pocket passer which is paying off right now.

So what numbers am I skipping over that doesn't fit the narrative?

Again, what in Colin's history as a passer in the NFL indicates that he is a worse passer than Tannehill? Give me a number, a stat, or something anything that indicates Tannehill is a more capable passer than Colin is?

Who says they're open, and who says they're going to catch the ball?

This is all conjecture because we don't know what was called, who the first read was, what coverage was called, etc...

Reminds me of a famous Jim Mora presser:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHipzGL4dwM

Some are literally making this up like: "he is far behind Luck, Tannehill, Newton, etc. at reading defenses."

Really? How do you know that? What stats, factual evidence do you have?

Same thing as when people on here claimed that Cutler is far more accomplished than Newton....UNTIL they actually did a little research and found out their PERCEPTION is not reality.

boldin

kyle williams

vernon davis

or

smitty

lafell

greg olsen

seems pretty even

Kyle Williams had 12 catches (and probably that number of drops), and got cut.

Last year we had:

Crabtree

Davis

Manningham

Randy Moss

Delanie Walker

Most of this year we had:

Boldin

Davis

Kyle Williams (12 catches, then cut)

Jon Baldwin (Chiefs castoff who could barely get on the field)

Marlon Moore (career special teamer)

Kasim Osgood (career special teamer)

Vance McDonald (rookie TE with bad hands)

Manningham missed half the season, then got put on IR because he was never healthy.  And our promising rookie WR Quinton Patton missed most of the season and training camp due to injuries.

Our WR corps was a mess for most of the season.  Things have finally started to stabilize with Crabs and Patton healthy.

The bottom line is Kap still has a lot of learning to do, but he's a better passer than he's given credit for.

Nothing...nadda?

im not the one arguing with you. but we literally just had a 2 page discussion about how stats mean nothing when taken out of context, then the first thing you do is ask for a stat that shows who's better at reading defenses? Thats not even possible. Look, you have panther fans saying "kap sucks because.....(random number)" and you have dumb 49er fans saying "kap is great because....(random number)". There's no "number" that proves OR disproves your point. So im not sure what your agenda actually is

This Kaepernick fella has just has never looked consistently comfortable in the pocket.  It's an observation v. any tangible paper stat.  I can sense his jitters through the TV.  Sometimes he'll get out of it with his legs but he shrivels up quite a lot.

It's obvious he gets overwhelmed by varying blitz packages which I think in large part is bc he's developing behind such a strong o-line.  He hasn't experienced a bad o-line situation before and it's actually to his detriment.  When an opposing D takes it to their line, the 49ers become beatable.  Our D line v. their O is arguably the biggest match-up.

On our end, once we build a stud o-line in Carolina, Cam is going to be crazy dangerous.  He's grown through bad lines, has held his own, and hasn't been Carr'd.

He is one reader and run qb. I wonder if he could ever develop into a legit pocket passer like Cam

Lord if we had vernon davis and anquan boldin we would be postmarked for the Superbowl

True, but you can say that about any QB.

There will be days when the o-line gets dominated, and the QB throws up a stinker game.  It even happens to Hall-of-Fame QBs like Brady, Brees, and Manning.
