Was that the one where the Browns picked Quinn?  Dude was super excited. lol

Yeah, he freaked out when they didn't take Quinn with their first pick which I think was top 5 and then when they finally picked him he was so stoked, what made it even better was that Quinns girlfriend at the time looked like she could not have been more pissed of while Quinn seems like he was just happy to be drafted, Bitch knew how much money they were loosing as he dropped and she was not happy, I hope he didn't Marry that girl, because if she can't be happy with him making $15m she was never going to be happy with him making $70m

remember the challenge where each time had to post within a certain time period or they'd lose?  I used my MST advantage on that one...but still set my alarm for 3am or something crazy like that just to make sure I was online and posted for my team!!!!

there was also a challenge that included needing to know what "Rudy's" number was when he played in high school.  I couldn't find anyone with a copy of the movie to check, so I actually phoned his old high school and talked to his old coach for about 15 minutes to get the number!!!!

Oh I remember the posting challenge.

The eye recognition challenge was one of my favorites.

One time at a draft party I think it was Raskle came down for it.  He had barely met me and skew and a few others and we decided to bar hop to another bar I knew about 10 minutes away after the draft.  When Skew and I got in my car and started driving with him in the backseat, I told him, "We're not really going to another bar....we're going to a field my grandfather owns right up here and we're going to chop you up into pieces after we tie you up to the pecan tree first."

Then I sat silent after that......this was back in the day when we all were considered weird for meeting people on the internet.

You were fine Mush, it was Scooter that sold it, lol. He had a creepy face when he wanted to show it off. :) Man, he was such an awesome guy.. put me up in his house that night, cause he was worried I'd try and drive back home to Richmond tired and didn't want to hear about a hotel. Who does that for some guy they barely know from an internet message board?

Had a great time meeting all the regulars back then. Told my brother I was driving down for the draft party, and he looked at me like I was losing my mind. He couldn't understand why I'd drive five hours to watch the draft with some folks I'd talked to over the net. I told him, "But, it's the Huddle Draft Party...." like he should understand it, lol.

great post mush...I for one can honestly say I miss the contributions you used to make daily to the huddle...now it's a pleasant surprise to see you post at all. Too many people fall into that category these days unfortunately.

I remember years ago getting booked for a training session down in South Carolina. I was already a member here but I'd never been out that way or met anyone from here. The welcome I received when I got to town was unforgettable. A night out with a few of the regulars, tailgate on gameday, ticket with the lovely Miss Skyy, hell, I even wore a Steve Smith jersey to the game (overtop my Seahawk shirt) to watch the panthers beat the falcons.

I've been back twice since and loved every minute of my time there.

this was a very different website back then, that's for sure. seemed to have more focus on getting to know people and making friendships etc....I'm sure that still happens today too, but not as much in my opinion.

I'll add to your trip down memory lane....the huddle...where only a Canadian Seahawk fan would be a Survivor Champion, still to be defeated by the way.....named a Mod, and of course, the huddler of the decade award winner.

I was the very first Huddle Survivor Champion! That was fun it even got my wife posting on this message board.

    • His o loaded with swift, dj, Keenan and Rome was inconsistent at best. The d was bad. And the game management was atrocious and lost them games.  He was terrible and made the team worse. I wish they kept him
    • That is my point.  I think teams make a huge mistake when they pay their decent to average QBs top QB money because they feel that they have to match the market or lose their investment--There is no way, for example, that Tua or Prescott or Murray should all be making more than Mahomes--I mean, Dak makes $15m per season more than Mahomes. People say, "Well, when its his turn...." But that is not how it should be--so my point was that Bryce can be doing mediocre to good enough in 2 years, but the way it is going, you have to pay him at the starting QB rate--currently $60m.  So even if you think he will continue to improve, at $60 m, he would eliminate any chance for a ring---so my view is, if he is not elite, you cut him.  So you draft QBs now and see what you can make of them.
    • With two 4ths and three 5ths I’m hoping we can kill it on adding depth. Take a gamble with the two 7ths.  First 3 picks id love to address the defense. I expect Tuttle, Robinson, and Jewell to all be on the 2025 roster but not after that. Be a good time to add depth and let them develop a year.
