It's even better, When you're the most confident.

Which is exactly what the media did. You could draw a line graph demonstrating media attitudes week by week towards San Fran and now it's reached ultra high levels, unstoppable Super Bowl , only team that can go to Seattle (23-3 btw Kaep held under 100 yards again) only team with a blue print. Our entire team top to bottom save running back, WR, and Oline are better than the 49ers. So in my opinion, it's a great thing wide receivers don't play wide receivers.

Good luck with your trip over and dealing with another physical team after taking a beating in the cold, they're gonna be more sore than usual, it's science.

There's a line between being cautious and being down right scared. The OP isn't saying we should all go ahead and purchase our plane tickets to Seattle(saints have no shot, let's be real) what he's saying is there is ZERO, ZILCH, NO reason "fans" should be making posts along the lines of "well, looks like we just got knocked out of the playoffs because GB lost". That's f'ing pathetic. I'm quite sure NO other fan base is acting like a bunch of p*****s the way some here are. They aren't doing that s**t in SF, hell they aren't even doing it in New Orleans and those dudes are about to go back to a place where they watched their team dismantled to it's core. OP is spot on. Cam talked about a culture change when he got here and it extends to the fans. You are either all in or you can kindly GTFO. We don't need that BS pansy attitude in the Cam Newton era.

There is one factor nobody seems interested in discussing---the bye.  The Panthers hit a hot streak but the offense fizzled down the stretch. Their 31-year old RB lost some pop and their 34-year old WR may have as well before getting injured.  In fact, it is a grueling season and the Panthers had not had a break since week 4.  They needed to ice up and take a breather.

The best part of the break is the chance to watch their own film and not the next team's.  Of the 3 teams they could have played, they had only played SF in regular season--so maybe they peeked at it,  However, the most important film was their own. Maybe they can reflect and improve by watching themselves.

When we played SF during week 10, the Panthers were 6-3 but really had not beaten an elite, playoff-caliber team.  Since then, they have defeated New England, the #2 seed in the AFC, New Orleans, in the NFC's "final 4", In fact, aside from the train wreck in Buffalo in week 2, the Panthers' only losses are against teams that had 10 or more wins.  Overall, they were 3-3 vs. teams with 10 wins or more--that is not bad. The 49ers were 3-4 vs 10-win teams.

This comes down to the QBs.  If Cam plays his best, we win.  If he overthrows seven of his first 8 targets and we go 3-and-out for the entire first quarter, it will be difficult to win.

Some of the attitudes displayed on this site today should be an embarrassment to Panther fans everywhere. This is supposed to be the premier fan site for the Carolina Panthers, a 12-4 team that's 11-1 in their last 12 games, yet many on here are acting as though we have no shot against San Fran.

I hear the whiny comments about how we almost lost to Atlanta on the road and now have to face the all-powerful 49'ers. How many of you watched the 9'ers almost lose at home to those same Falcons save for a fluke interception?

I can feel your fear when you talk about how San Fran had players missing during our first meeting. The only significant 49'er missing was Crabtree. Vernon Davis played. Aldon Smith played. We beat them at home on the scoreboard and we beat them up physically. And guess what, we had players on IR too.

I see the lack of respect some of you are giving to our coaches and players. The same people that got us to the number 2 seed now aren't good enough? If you seriously feel this way, it's probably time for you to stick to fantasy football.

If anyone associated with the Panthers happens to see this, know that the majority of us share your confidence that we can beat anyone, and that starts with the 49'ers next Sunday.

Mods, why was this thread allowed, but I had two deleted saying the same thing?

Generally, I agree. I'm not one to chastise others over their opinions with few exceptions.

But reading the Huddle today just blew me away. The negativity and fear displayed by more than a few, including the guy who runs things around here, was a shock.

The playoffs aren't for the weak of heart. All these teams are good, all are dangerous. Including us. What does it gain at this point to openly lament that maybe we aren't good enough? Should we happen to lose, we'll have the whole offseason to analyze, point fingers, and display perfect hindsight.

I guess I just don't get it.

Yep, Zod sets the tone and him being the biggest pessimist of all was pretty sad. He still mad because of the Beason trade?

Zod, I hope you're not quivering in fright on the sidelines on Sunday when you see the mighty 49ers take the field. We'll need you to shoot more great rain photos!

I posted one thread pointing out Shula's history in the playoffs and all of a sudden this place is so negative and everyone is afraid.

Man up, son.
