This is the matchup I didn't want, because San Fran does want revenge. They have Crabtree back, Davis healthy and Smith healthy. Sometimes the QB need to do a little more than throw the ball to win. Especially playing against QBs who are doing just that. When you're playing against a QB who is not taking 2nd & 10 instead 2nd & 5 running the football, winning become more difficulty. Years back it might have been ok since you weren't facing those type of players. Now the game is changing. QBs are expected to give more, especially in the playoffs. I just think Rodgers didn't or just couldn't do enough. People keep yapping he's the greatest this, greatest that but for consecutive year against the same team he looks flat. The thing about pure pocket passers in the playoffs is that the defense knows where to find them.

I think our offense isn't going to get anything going. Our execution has been pretty poor as of late and even though we'll probably hold them to 12-13 points, we'll struggle to match that.

Our D against their running attack is huge.  I think we can punch them in the mouth if our gameplan is on point and the players are focused.  

 

No jitters, go out there and destroy them.  Stay aggressive but smart.  

 

I'm thinking if we can put up 17 on offense, we can win this.  It's going to be a great game.

The Running game is gonna be more of a key factor than what people think.

It's amusing to me to read the writings of a bunch of grown men worrying about a football team being 'out for revenge!' like it's going to give them some type of edge. Progeria Kid had to say something when they asked him about the matchup, so he offered up the most generic response.

Their O-line is beast and we'll have to both 1) establish line control and 2) keep contain.  I'd say their O-line is better than our O-line, but our front seven D is better then theirs.  As much as pundits and prognosticators are going to focus on the running game....it is true, BUT it's going to be who's more successful in the passing game than anything the running game is going to provide.  I think it's going to be a wash for both teams in the running game.  It's going to be the limiting of mistakes, special teams, and big passing plays that I think will decide this game.  Our DBs have got their work cut out for them.  They are going to put 8 in the box on us and force Cam to throw more than we're comfortable with.  Going to have to use screens and quick slants to keep their pass rush off balance.  Really could use Smitty.
