If i remember the Offense had to bail the Defense in several games!? New England, Miami,

This offense can put up points, but lack of execution in the 1st half is what I'm more worried about.

The offense was terrible against Miami except for that final drive.

Well save for Green Bay, every potential NFC opponent will have an elite defense.

To me the key will be not getting into 3rd and long situations. We absolutely will lose if we go 0'fer on third downs. That and Lafell will have to show up. It could happen as this is his last chance to prove he deserves a decent contract.

All I know is we better not run the fugging wildcat with Deangelo for -1 yard.

We have more talent than that Tampa Bay offense. The rules are also different.

Carolina has had the least number of drive in the NFL.....

That greatly explains the offensive ranking

Part of the reason that we aren't tops in total yards is that is not our focus.  Teams with an average to poor defense realize that they have to score points in bunches and that things like time of possession aren't that important so they gear up their passing game and focus on points.  We have a much more balanced approach running and passing,  prizing time of possession and long time consuming drives.  That won't win any records or offensive awards but as we have shown we can control the game, flip the field, and score while using clock.  When we have to score in a hurry we can as we showed against new Orleans and Miami, etc.

 

Should we  use more no huddle or 2 minute offense?  I think it depends on our goals. Against Green Bay we are likely trying to keep their offense off the field and wear down their defense.  Is that better done with a balanced offense or with a no huddle offense which often causes quick possessions and lots of opportunities for their offense.  Against San Francisco time of possession isn't as important since they hold the ball as well.  So points by any means is critical as long as our defense is not out there all day.

 

Rankings on offense are really not that imporrtant.  With the exception of Denver,  most all teams are within 60 yards of each other in total yards.  The number 2 teams scores at 27 points a game, the number 20th team scores at 22 points a game.  We are at 18 

at 22.9 points a game.

The important issue is obviously points for minus points against and in differential we are around 4th in the league.

You guys are making way too much of the wild cat. We run it once a game it usually gains 3 yards. It's a boring pointless play but it's way better than the Cam -12 yard sacks we get from time to time.

Well yeah and people say Cam's numbers are down and he's a game manager...he just doesn't have many attempts because we rarely get down by two scores and when we do we stay the course and put together a 12 play 8 minute drive.

One more thing. Cam plays well for us. He loves handing out footballs. All of his stats go up in BOA. I would be more worried on the road.

The great things about stats is that they are made anew after each passing game.  Also, a sample size of 2 really isn't much.  Damn, Zod, you have been a negative Nancy concerning Shula as of late.  Hopefully he can pick it up.  If anything, it is now a glaring problem that can't be ignored.  Hopefully Rivera has more involvement in what Shula is doing, and hopefully Shula is taking notes from the offensive coaches and players.  Cam also can't escape blame.  He has been lackluster as of late, as has Donald.  If those two can get on the same page as Shula, it should be enough to win.

What we need more than anything..... Is a traditional rush attack to emerge.

 

They need to start Chris Scott at RG he is much better at run blocking than Chandler.The run game gets  the offense into  rhythm and that is what we usually start our 1st half with.  Just look at Saints the  game they won because of the run game controlling the clock. We need that back like we had earlier in the season along .
