Coach of the Year...

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

Reid certainly hit rock bottom on that one leaving the only WR that could beat you wide open. Hilton was targeted 18 times and the DCs still couldn't figure out the play call from the huddle.

Hey Mr. Scot, of all people I wouldn't think you'd be starting this thread. Bringing attention to how much of a fiasco this was and all.

It took us three years to be in the playoffs, to just have a winning record, to just be over .500. Rivera deserves consideration, but it shouldn't matter how you finish if your able to the worst team in football and get them into the playoffs the very next year.

KC came out hot against bad teams. And then was one of the worst teams in the league in the 2nd half of the season. They were 2-6 in their last 8 games.

No way Reid should be in consideration.

Oy

It might help if you try understanding that football is a game, not a popularity contest.

Let it go, kid.

Pretty much my take.

Add in that this is not exactly Reid's first playoff choke.

To be fair, how can you fault Reid for choosing to pass over running with a third-string RB? It almost paid off... twice. Nobody can call Reid spineless. He trusted his QB. If anybody deserves to be crucified, it's Bowe for two crucial inexcusable drops and awful awareness on that final play.

He was fried.

Reid plays in a weak division (minus Broncos) and weak conference in general.

He rested his starters against a division rival and practically punched their ticket for a playoff berth.

He called timeout immediately after the two minute warning, in a playoff game. That was odd. He lost that game, blowing a three touchdown lead.

No one is perfect though, I wouldn't be upset if he won COY.

Agree. But, I just think if my team won a game like that I would rather they run as far away from that stadium before somedody call them back in to tell them they actually lost. lol

So if Rivera and the Panthers get knocked out next week, does that mean he shouldn't be up for Coach of the year either? Wait...don't answer that. I just remembered what site I am posting on..SMH

It is not the playoff loss. It was the 2-5 record in the second half and statistically being one if the worst teams in the league during that time.

They beat a few bad teams early.....and then lost when the schedule got tougher.

Every team has won ugly games, ours included. Heck, 'ugly' would have been a compliment to that final stretch of games we played this season.

So what?

A win is a win, and a loss is a loss.

Till Keenan Lewis went down, he had no answers.

Not saying he's a lousy coach mind you, but his NFL playoff inexperience was definitely a factor yesterday. Rob Ryan had his number, and he couldn't keep up with Payton.

Honestly, minus the Lewis injury, that game is probably a double digit loss, and maybe a blowout.

I think half time adjustments were huge. We all knew that when halftime came the Saints were going to adjust and they did. I think game management by Payton was exelent as well.

And they were 11-5 in 16 games. After being 2-12. I understand your point, but for me anytime you turn a franchise from worst to playoff bound you deserve to at least be in consideration.
