National perception of the Panthers via Twitter study

I like how the people who only showed up here after we drafted Cam and are probably only 15 years old telling die hard Panther fans from day 1 that "your" (you're) either in or out.

Good for a laugh

It comes with winning. So although it also annoys me to no end, i guess it can be seen as a positive

I like how people act like 1 playoff loss in 2008 is so devastating to them. I would hate to see people here if the panthers were like the 49ers who sucked for 10 years or so before harbaugh got there.

Horrible example...

In the 49ers case I'm sure their Montana/Young days and SuperBowls are more than enough to get them through 10 years of suckage.

We have too many of those "well let's just see what happens" fans I agree your in or your out, it's time to stop questioning and get on the train or get rolled over by it.....Destination New York

Yup and then if we lose it's like they will say "I told you so". Those types of fans are among the type I hate the most.

Being cautiously optimistic doesn't mean you're not all in. I'll be at the game next Sunday, losing my voice and going insane. I'm reasonable with my expectations. I'll take it a game at a time, I'm not going to sit here and expect a Super Bowl victory. If it happens great, but for me it's one game at a time.

You think the Carolina Panthers are the only team to ever lose in a big game?

That's why we love sports.  You get your heart ripped out and you get the sheer joy of winning.  Don't let the negative scar you for life.

We are actually looked upon verb favorable by people outside of the Carolinas. I expect this to change over time because of Cam and us winning. But for now people will probably be pulling for the Panthers nationwide. Here is the link. https://blogs.emory.edu/sportsmarketing/2014/01/03/u-mad-bro-examining-twitter-sentiment-for-nfl-teams-in-and-out-of-their-markets/

my gut tells me that twitter research is not an accurate representation of the whole. i know many many people who do not have a twitter. those that do, at least in my area, seem to be generally disinterested in football. poor sad saps... but i think general disinterest in pro football is the main reason the Panthers dont really have the same following as other markets. i dont really understand that because even the "good" Carolina college teams generally give their fans plenty of heartbreak too. South Carolina and Clemson could have been competing for a National Championship appearance this year, Duke exceeded expectations but has been terrible forever. UNC and NCST are both perpetually terrible also... all that to say... i think Carolinians are simply waiting for a team that can be a regular winner. the Panthers have never had back-to-back winning seasons. i think this current roster has the ability to get that monkey off its back. and i would be willing to bet that when it does, the Panthers will begin to seriously gain a following in the home market

Thats just called being a b***h. You're either in, or you're out. There is no in-between.

Being a bitch is being afraid to criticize and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of your team in the good times and the bad. That's what being "all in" is about.
