Mea Culpa

I was wrong about both Luke and Rivera. I didn't like the Luke pick, because deep down I knew it would be the end of the Beason era, and he was one of my favorite players, so I wasn't ready to let him go lol. As far as Rivera goes, I'm just glad we didn't fire him last season and let him get his 3 years. My views have changed in regards to Rivera, but I'll be fully sold on him if he's able to lead us to back to back winning seasons.

I would have bet money that Rivera would be fired after or during the season.

I did (kind of) bet money that lester would not be starter and paid it.

I bought into the Cam's lack of accuracy storyline when he was drafted.

Luke.

I thought we were getting a good-not-great LB who was a little bit of a pile jumper. I was livid when we went LB at #9.

Tackle machines in college tend to do translate well in the NFL.

Ray Lewis led the Big East (when the U was apart of the big east) in tackles multiple years

Urlacher was a tackle machine at New Mexico

I didn't know he would be a all pro lb but I saw some potential

Youa Culpa, Mea Culpa, Wealla Culpa.  Collectively, this board was through with Rivera.  If memory serves, the ones who didn't want him fired immediately were the ones saying that Jerry would never pay someone to not work, or that it would be pointless to fire him mid-season because who better could we get at that time, yada yada.

He should be honored with coach of the year because of how difficult it must be to change your coaching style, your game management philosophy in mid stream like that, and have it completely turn the season around.  Not many teams can start 1-3 and end up division champs with a bye week in the playoffs.

I humbly admit that I was wrong - with the caveat that I was not wrong about the old Ron, but that Ron could change.

Yeah Rivera. Tbf though if you were defending his decisions during that stretch you were still wrong. You would only right if you thought he would have an epiphany and turn into this Riverboat character and start getting us wins.

Unless while defending him you were pitching the idea that coaches have to have time to develope.

Kinda like the Browns let belicheat learn the dark ways and the Patriots let him master it.
