The Year Was 2011

Cam is the Michael Jordan of football, I've believed it for a long time and we all see it. (think 1984 NBA Draft here) Patrick Peterson is Hakeem, nothing wrong with that, as well as many others, Stockton, Barkley (Green, Miller), etc., but they're no Michael. Gabbert is Sam Bowie.

I know a lot of you guys like putting him down, and I may get bashed for this, but I believe that Luck will eventually become an all-time great. He has brains far beyond any other young QB, a strong arm, is very athletic, and, like Cam, is accomplishing a lot with out a whole lot of help on the offensive side of the ball. As bad as our O-Line is, Indy's is far worse.

i wanted cam day one.  as soon as luck backed out i prayed to the football gods above that Ron draft him.

couldnt begin to wash away '10 fast enough and if you watched any of that yrs Auburn run to the national championship, you would know who the right choice was.... especially with what we put on the field that yr.

in my mind he was the anticlausen.

Also, a lot of hypes that some lesser QBs get stem from GMs playing head games with other GMs. Like if one GM is in love with Cam but picking to low to get him he'd tell an idiot like Mcshay some other bum is "probably the most pro ready" in the draft. Mcshay being so wet behind the ears as it is think he just got himself some inside story and spew it to the media. For example, late in the college football season this year Mcshay switch from Bridgewater as the #1 to Mariota as the #1 pick. Any sports enthusiast who watch Mariota play can obviously see the guy in no way could be a #1 pick. I have a feeling Mcshay get prank all the time by GMs(and players) because he has a very gullible face.

From your mouth to God's ears.

And if you look at it, Michael took the Bulls from a the basement slowly but surely to the top, just like Cam with the Panthers.

Back in those days, folks understood what patience was and could actually see a team taking steps in the right direction. In this time and age, everything is from zero to Championship rings in one season or the team is seen as a failure...depending on the team and their fans.

I will admit that I don't watch much college football. I follow the Sooners and the Gamecocks, and I read enough to have an idea of who the players are coming into the draft, but that's about all the effort I put into it.

I do distinctly remember watching Cam's Championship game and saying "THAT is who we need in Carolina". My then-bf said we'd never get him. I rubbed it in his face on draft day. I knew he was the piece we needed to build a championship caliber team.

gabbert, when he was supposed to be looking like a potential number one draft pick, always looked like jimmy clausen his rookie year. i never bought into the whole yo gabba gabbert hype. never understood it. he has happy feet, can't handle pressure, and doesn't scan the whole field. he turned out to be the guy i thought he would.

locker will peak out at being an average QB who is always just good enough to keep his job, but never good enough to take his team over the top.

i knew cam would be great. i just never knew it would happen so quickly or that he would be as well rounded as he's becoming.

i agree with everything but locker. gabbert i knew would suck. I thought Cam would get there eventually.

for some reason i just think Locker needs time like i thought Cam would need. I think he will be pretty good in the future and good enough to take his team over the top.
