I think he's saying Smitty got the first. Pretty sure you're right about Moose having the longest. Think that TD was the longest pass play in Panthers history before LaFells last year or year before.

Yeah I misread the question. Last I knew that Moose TD was the longest touchdown catch in super bowl history. Not sure if it still is.

IIRC he did because the NFC was pretty poor for QBs. Favre and Aikman are the only ones I can think of who were competition

Edit: forgot about Steve young. I decided to look if up and Collins did make it, I'm guessing as an injury replacement, because Gus frerrotte was on the roster too (????????).
