MichaelNewtonII, you know what's a DRAG?

The guys in charge will do what they want, it's their job to worry about drafting, trading, etc...

It's the people's job to support the team. MJ gave the fans exactly what they want (getting the Hornets name back) and you guys still want to support the team.

If you want a good draft pick, that's understandable... however, cheering for your so called favorite team to lose is low... even for Charlotte fans.

not cheering for them to lose. Im just not upset if they lose. I am however cheering for detroit losses and portland losses

Some of u guys are crazy. I'm not for tanking or against it. But u do realise we've basically tanked every MF year we have been a team. Jesus when are we supposed to stop tanking. According to u guys never. #TankForever

We'd have the 2k championship locked up on paper for 15 years with all our tanking.

Even if we get jabari. How many wins we gonna have with him if we don't have a good team around him or our key players. U build a team through drafting, trading, free agency and such. U don't tank every year Jesus.

what you dont get is we actually have some decent pieces but we need a STAR.

It's going to be hilarious reading what you all will be saying at this time next year, when that top prize from tanking is struggling only slightly less than Zeller is right now.

Exactly

I remember hearing how great Shabazz muhammad would be. He was the next best thing to lebron. I realise we need talent but there are other ways of getting talent than just tanking every year until u get lebron or durant. Guess what folks, there isn't gonna be another lebron or durant

Uh...what?

Welp, cancel basketball since it's peaked talent wise. Despite the same being said about x number of players for the past 60-70 years.

Here's one example of how Shabazz Muhammad was a can't-miss prospect.

Because of the post of one guy? Let's ignore the sane people and GMs who dropped him in the ratings, and his college performance not backing up his high school ranking. Or all the drama outside of basketball involving him.

I once predicted Lebron James would be good. There's one example of a can't-miss prospect.

Hmmm listen if u think there will be another lebron then idk what to tell u. Lebron will end up being the greatest of all time in most minds. If not number one then 2nd behind Jordan. And durant is a seven footer who is so agile and can break u down and score all day. Nearly impossible to stop. He himself could end up being top 10 greatest players of all time, if not higher. So yeah if u think players of this magnitude will be cloned then be my guest.

It was pretty much is number one spot to lose. Everyone was crowning him the GOAT 2.0. Same thing with wiggins. Just hype. U gotta get lucky. Or we could construct a team the right way and make good draft picks and trades and free agent signings.

Or let's go with tanking from now to the end of time until we find the next GOAT.

Someone was always the greatest of all-time...or close. People thought there'd never be another Mikan. Then Wilt, Russell, Kareem, Shag, Hakeem, etc. all came along.

People laughed at the nobody will be better than Magic/Bird argument...then Jordan came along. Then there will never be another Jordan, and now LBJ and Durant are doing just fine, as you said, potentially being Top 10 players of all-time.

The Hornets don't need to land the next LBJ, because as a player there may never be another one. Impact wise however? Yes, yes there will be more guys who are considered all-time greats, just as history has shown since basketball was a sport.

I agree. But I didn't say that there wouldn't be other players better or as good as them. I said there will never be another lebron or kevin durant. Those guys are unique as the other guys before them.

Are u willing to tank the next ten years (like we pretty much have been doing since the beginning of this franchise) to get a superstar. Them just to be the Cleveland cavaliers with kyrie. Or Washington with John wall or Kevin love with Minnesota. We keep on going the way we are and we won't have a team in 10 years. Being terrible every year in hoping to get a superstar.

And oh yeah even if we get Parker wiggins or whoever. What makes them stay after that rookie contract is up. They will jet to LA NY or whoever. In today's game u gotta build a team differently when your a small market.

Not at all do you have to keep tanking. You just listed 3 of the worst ran franchises in sports, who also haven't had to tank for 10 years, nor would Charlotte. They've been shitty for so long, because they can't draft. Not because they've landed a superstar who abandoned them.

When you're a small market team, yes, you do build differently. You draft a superstar, and then fill it out. Stay a contender? And your guy may not leave. If he does? Then he always wanted to be in a larger market anyway and there's nothing you can do. It's the life of a small market franchise. I'll link something that I never got a reply to from Third Degree (since he seemingly didn't know what a small market even was) , post number 43 sums up how small market teams have to build.

As u said to land a superstar in the NBA u have to be lucky and draft one. If we don't draft one, then what... Tank some more. Nothing is guaranteed. Lottery screws us over.

Listen man. Nobody wants a star here more than me. We deserve one and need one. But I'm

Not willing to watch this team for the 10 years to become Milwaukee.

The spurs did draft Duncan but they also built their teams the right way and didn't tank forever like we have been doing. Hell some years we haven't tanked and were downright terrible. It starts with management and operating the team. Do u honestly trust jordan cho and Higgins to make the right draft choices for this team even in a stacked draft like this. I know I don't. Look at Indiana. They drafted Paul George 15 I believe. Somewhere in there. And they didn't tank to get all the talent they have. The spurs the same way. The make great observations on players and scout and have a plan.

So if I'm faced with this decision of choosing whether to let cho and Higgins tank and wait for our star or to choose them being competitive and being in the playoffs and maybe even winning. I choose the latter.

If I knew for sure without a doubt that we could get Parker and he would be a superstar and be our savior then yes of course I would do that. But we have so many obstacles on front of that.

Lottery screws us over, cho makes the wrong pick, we win too many games, and so on.
