NFL to consider re-seeding playoffs

I don't think I was clear on the conference portion. It should still be four division winners from each conference with two wildcard winners from each conference. So everything stays the same as it is now, the only difference being that division winners aren't guaranteed a home game. Didn't click the link so I don't know if they said the same thing, but that's how I feel it should be. So for instance this year the 49ers and the Saints should be hosting a game, not the Eagles and the Packers. I would expand on this by saying it only applies to the wildcard round, and is null for any round after that.

Damn thats my mistake. Your op made sense, my bad. Good stuff man.

People hate it the current way, but if it goes a new way people will say that their 9-7 record was because their division is stacked, and they shouldn't have to go play a team in a cupcake division that didn't even win it.

Such a horrible excuse lol. 6 games are division games. Lets say you split all 6, that's 3wins - 3 losses. If the best you can do is get only 2 games over .500 with 10 games left you dont deserve home-field

I prefer the way it is now. Maybe it sucks, but they were the best of their division. They should host a game, screw it. Stick with the old.

I agree. If you win your division you should host a playoff game. If you don't want to play on the road, win the division.

My solution is awesome. No conferences. Just 8 divisions. The division winners and next four teams get seeded 1-12 based on record with winning a division being the first tie breaker, division record the second. What is the point of afc Nfc anyway. Take this year,

Denver

Seattle

Carolina

New England still get byes

San Fran

Indy

Cinncy

Saints host wildcard games

Kansas city

Philly

Arizona

Green bay travel

Fug that, current system best.

I have no interest in a system where the Panthers and Saints didn't play week 16 for a potential 2 versus 5 or 6 seed.

All in.

Only 5 AFC teams make the Playoffs, lolz.

I really don't see why there's so much fuss over this, you wanna play at home then win your division.

It actually may be more "fair" the way it is now. Since everybody in your division plays close to the same schedule there's no complaining about having better records based on an easier schedule. If my 10-6 division winner with the #5 toughest schedule had to travel to an 11-5 wild card with the #30 toughest schedule, I'd probably be a little pissed.

    • The examples are so many it is pathetic. These are professionals. There is zero reason laypeople or amateur draftniks should be better than our FO. Unless you are a Millen-esque GM. Somehow we have had several. Maybe Mike Mayock is a good recent comp? One good draft out of three and basically just a TV guy.
