How Long Before Charlotte is a Legit Playoff contender

And Cody Zeller is another system player that performing because of a bad system.  I think a lot of fans can do the front office job much better than the current Bobcats executives.

Im telling you. And we're talking about that these FO guys do this for a living. Some of them are bred to do this kind of work. And, paid to do so.

I would have already built a legitimate Playoffs contender if I was the one drafting these players.

I havent even begin looking at 2015 prospects but it is a good class of Centers led by Okafor and Myles Turner. Even the pathetic Desagna Diop's brother is in that class and projected to be pretty good.

It's making me really emo (lol) thinking of having a lottery pick in 2015. I was hoping that this year would be the last year we'd be in the lottery. Guess not. But, I'm still optimistic for this season. I really believe that the "L" will start to pile up soon enough. After the loss tonight, we just got pushed down to the 8th seed. I cant imagine Brooklyn and NYK not making the Playoffs this year. I dont believe we'll make the Playoffs anymore.

Right now, we have the 11th worst record in the league. A couple more losses and we'd be getting our pick back (Chicago Top10 protected). Maybe, we could package our 3 potential picks into the top 5-7.

I hope that we could potentially be in a position to take Joel Embiid. Even though we have Big Al, Embiid would compliment Al well. Move Al to PF and play Embiid at the 5.

Dont really wanna call Zeller a bust atm bc I'm trying to be a "good fan", but the more I think about it the more I believe we should have went with Nerlens Noel. Terrible move by Cho and MJ for knowing that we were going after Al Jefferson and still drafted Zeller.

I was on the Nerlens Noel bandwagon. Take Noel, let him sit out and let the team suck, then have a high pick and start out the hornets era with 2 young studs... but that didnt happen of course

I really want to know what the value is for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

Im not riding him off (I do see potential), but if we could really get a mid to high 1st for him, I would really pull the trigger. Add more picks to the draft so we can position ourselves to make some big moves in the draft.

Gordon Hayward is a RFA, but I think we could make a move for him this off season. He would be a huge upgrade right now over MKG.

Add Hendo to the question too. Whats his value?

I would like to know the value of Hendo as well. I was reading where the Wizards would like to add a big man to their roster. They feel they need an addition coming off the bench and would like to have insurance for Nene and his health concerns. I looked at their roster and they could use a scoring threat off the bench at the 2 guard behind Beal. They have 3 options at small forward in Otto Porter, Martell Webster, and Trevor Ariza. So I propose this deal. Henderson and Biyombo/Mcroberts (their choice of one of these big guys) to the Wizards for Trevor Ariza and first round pick in 2014 draft. Wizards would add much needed bench help to give them a nice looking bench for a top 4 seed and playoff run. Hornets get a small forward to replace Taylor in rotation and he is on an expiring contract of $7.7 million giving the Hornets even more to spend in free agency. Gordan or even Sessions could start rest of the year at shooting guard while Zeller could start and get extended playing experience. Hornets also add another pick in the draft andthen would have 4 picks in round one. Then package two to move up and still have 3 picks.

I would absolutely love this trade. We would be dumping garbage out the house(Hendo) and getting another expiring and a first round pick that would be anywhere from 13-25. Hell yes. Idk how cho talks the wizards into that but get it done now.

Depends on what you mean by legit playoff contender.  In the current East, everybody can be a playoff contender.  To be the type of team that is going to make the playoffs year after year and play deep into May-June we still needs several pieces, including a legit superstar.  Unless someone decides to come here via FA, we need to draft him.  Hopefully the ping pong balls go our way for once.

Hendo's gotta go.  I don't mind losing MKG to be honest but it will be a little sad. I think MKG is a great team player but Chris Douglas Roberts is a better playmaker.

What I really want is a good player maker (ie. superbn dribbling, above average passing).  he should be a slasher 60% to 70% of the time and most ideal if he is an awesome shooter.  i can live with it if he is not an awesome shooter because shooting is actually not a higher barrier thing in this league.  too many good shooters (spot up or in transition/off balance shot).  someone like john wall would be very awesome.

a lot of people say Kemba is the guy and i can only agree to a certain extent.  IMO he is too small to be great.  We need great.  Kemba is somewhere past above average but not enough to be great.  so i don't mind trading Kemba if we can get someone more valuable.  heck i'd even take joe johnson for kemba even if joe is getting older.

If you mean legitimate NBA championship contenders, certainly not within the next decade. We would basically have to get a durant/howard/lebron level superstar in the draft, not merely an all-star caliber player which in itself we have been entirely incapable of doing.

yes i completely agree with you.  Right now I think Al Jefferson is arguably one of the superstars.  The team can prove this if they can build an efficient system around Al Jefferson as one of the core pieces.  Kemba is height limited to be another core piece unless he changes his style and play around Big Al instead of taking too many shots.  Kemba needs to focus more on getting assist than score.

in general, team needs more ball motion on the offense.  look to make assist first and move without the ball, set screen, etc.
