I wonder how Cutler's contract will affect Cam's

No an elite QB is a QB that is on a team that is succesful only because of him. Aaron Rodgers, he goes down with injury and the Packers are lucky they get 8 wins, its because he is that team. If a QB had the same stats Cam had this year on a team with horrible D, that team would be lucky to get 4 wins.

Our D is the only reason we win games. This team is a mirror image of the 2003 team that was also carried by a stout D. Cam is right on the level of a Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick, your classic game manager that is carried by a stout D.

And yet I again have to point out the fact that Cutler only played in 5 games his rookie season.  Compare the 2nd and 3rd season.  Saying Cam and Cutler is of the same QB style is laughable.  Cutler is a gunslinger Cam is a dual threat.  You did't see Cutler taking half of the runningback yards his first 3 seasons. 

 

 

 

But I will say Cam should make more than Cutler. But for the benefit of the Panthers I hope Cam realizes he needs to help the team out and not break the bank. 

 

Unless he was injured; did the thought ever occur to you, Cutler just wasn't ready or good enough his rookie season (only playing 6 games)?? It only reinforces the notion, that Cam was more advanced a passer than Cutler, his first 3 seasons.

There is no basis whatsoever on this notion that Cam is looking to force the Panthers to "break the bank" on his extension.

 

No there is not and Im not expecting Cam to do that. I do expect him to get anywhere from 15-20 mil a year.  Which I really wont have a issue with.  If is more than 20 mil yeah it wont be good for us.

Cam probably was, could have been better than Rogers, considering AR didn't play his first three years. 

 

Yeah, that's usually the case in these comparisons/situations. remember, Rogers had to be groomed for the position, learning those three years as a lower pick QB. However, since Rogers sat behind a hall of famer, and what he's become, we'll give him the benefit of the doubt (though some argue, he plays in a excellent system for QB's). 

 

But yes, that's usually the case. For example: Kaepernick wasn't good enough to start over Alex Smith his first year and a half in Frisco. However, Russel Wilson, eclipsed Matt Flynn from training camp. So yes, Russel Wilson was more advanced (and is still a better QB today, if you take away the SanFran gimmicks) than Colin Kaepernick. And it shows.

Whoa, If we Anquan bolden, crabtree, vernon davis and the right side of the 49ers team we would be booked for the Superbowl.

An idiotic comparison to say the least considering that we are have no wr talent outside of #89 and Olsen is not blowing past anybody. Very few qbs would have us 12-4, Cam's mobility, arm strength and clutch factor has been a big part of why we are 12-4

 

The defense is doing what they are supposed to fuging doing, kicking ass and taking names. Cam is carrying the offense, he has no one else who can take up the slack at a high level besides a older, slower #89 and Olsen

My statement does fit because the Panthers should not only have already been giving Cam help, but to wait until it's time to pay him and use that as leverage not to, makes no sense. 

 

The Bears secured Cutler financially because they see what he means for their team. I hope the Panthers do the same for Cam when that time comes. Especially since Cam is doing what he's doing without much "help" and the team is using him in many ways to help plug the holes in the Offense.

 

Cam shouldn't be paid based on what other QBs have done or how great his stats are. He should be paid based on how much of an asset he is to this team.
