I'll give you that the Saints might win Hatter, but I'm not sold on it being by double digits.

Away game, outside, cold, non-artificial turf...Saints will be out of their element in a lot of ways.

the Eagles didn't play well at home this season for some reason.  I'm going to attribute that to them trying to sort their team out early on, but it was enough of a point that my buddy kept bringing it up like he was concerned about it.

I think Philly is a much weaker opponent that people are thinking.

They beat no one during the season and had a final SOS at #27 in the league....as opposed to New Orleans at #4.

I have a gut feeling that the Saints exercise the road playoff demons in a big way Sat.....but then again I may be totally wrong.

I will grant you that a good number of their wins came against weak competition (including an unusually crappy NFC East).

They were 4-4....but they were 4-0 in the second half of the season.  Although those games were aginst shitty teams.

Yeah I have. I've also watched the Saints play.

Philly is good, even very good, but you're gonna have to sell me on 'better than New Orleans'.

See your just thinking about Brees in the Dome. Philly has the #1 rushing offense, NO isn't even top 20. I chose my words very carefully when I said OVERALL offense

Yeah...I think Saints on the road is more of a factor than Eagles home struggles, personally....

Saints are too good of a team to have that terrible road record.  I believe it is more mental than anything else.  I think they finally get over that this week-end against an average Philly team.

Granted, but would you disagree that the quality of opponents they've faced haven't been the same as what the Saints faced?

(i don't tend to go just by stats)

Are you gonna be that guy? The contrarian that finds the exception to every statement and argues like the devil's advocate? I have family in Jersey, people up north are assholes and they know it. It's a different culture. They tell each other to "go fawk yaself" but it's a brotherhood of shared misery. Down here we tell each other "bless your heart" and it might as well be an insult. In every stereotype there is a lot of truth.

You only believe this because somebody (or multiple people) indoctrinated that thought into you during your formative years and have used any negative experience with someone up north to re-affirm your already existing disdain.

Absolutely that's fair and should be in the discussion. They are a hard team to discuss because they've been a completely different team since Nick Foles took over. Offense has been a lot better and even their defense played better outside of the Vikings game.

I've never said that we couldn't beat them, hell I think the saints will knock them off. My argument is that they are a scary team because they have the match ups to exploit our secondary. They tend to put up points in bunches like the saints. One bad quarter like in New Orleans could be the ball game with the way our offense has played lately.

We've played every team except the Packers and Eagles. Even with the packers you know who they are, the eagles not so much.

I tend to think the Saints will win. While I get no joy out of even the thought of defended New Orleans, I think a closer look at there road loses suggest that in reality, the popular narrative of them being a "bad road team" may be flawed.

Of their 5 road loses. 3 were to teams that currently have 1st round byes in the play-offs. The Panthers, Seahawks, and Patriots. There is also a common thread in 4 off the loses, nasty defenses, Jets, Rams, Panthers, and Seahawks. Look at the home records of the teams they lost.

N.E. 8-0

Carolina 7-1

Seattle  7-1

N.Y. Jets 6-2

Rams 5-3

Just food for thought/discussion
