Yeah, that's done.

Seven year deal.  Holy hell Chicago

If it's big money for a guy like Cutler, what happens to negotiations with Newton?

Cam is going to get paid big regardless. Like I've said before, the market value for franchise quarterbacks is only going up from here.

No doubt he's going to get a good payday.

i just wish other GMs would stop inflating it by overpaying not-so-great QBs.

(but sadly, this is the way things go these days)

That's what the NFL has become. If Chicago didn't pay him, someone else would have. Regardless of what we may think about Cutler as a quarterback, he would have been heavily sought after in FA. It isn't just QB's either, we have WR's with 100 million dollar contracts too.

Receivers, Defensive Ends, Cornerbacks, Left Tackles...

These days, it seems like overpayment isn't the exception, it's the rule :(

I suppose it's only a matter of time before we see our first 200 million dollar NFL contract.

Part of me wishes there was a different cap for QBs as opposed to the rest of the team, but that'll never happen.

At some point, I might make a list of all the 100 million dollar QBs currently in the NFL, but not right now.

One positive: At least the money's going to guys who've somewhat earned it.  Remember when there was no rookie cap and guys made 50 million without ever playing a down?
