I never want to hear Panther fans referred to as lightweight or fairweather again

A Philly fan just told me that we only sold out so quick bc Philly fans were buying up the tickets in anticipation of beating NO in the wild card and then making the trip to Charlotte. Their goal is to get 75% of BoA filled with green.

the reason why it tickets sold out so fast is scalpers used Bots to buy all the tickets and resell them.. ticketmaster sucks

So when the Saints win that means more tickets will be available to purchase hopefully driving the price down for Panther fans that don't have tickets yet.

Panthers fans show up when we are relevant...always have, always will. People that say otherwise don't keep up with this team or have never gone to a game.

Also, people forget how bad early kick offs are for tailgating. Go to a college game for a 1230 kick off and it us no different than a pro game at 1.

Even the Steelers had quite a few games this year where there were large swaths of empty seats. It's a league wide issue that's giving the NFL fits.

The Steelers were also a losing team with aging super stars that people have become disenfranchised with. I don't believe the economy had much to do with it honestly.

For me, it's like this. I could probably afford a PSL in the upper part of the upper deck but I would rather watch on TV at home with instant replay and DVR, second TV running redzone channel. Not have to worry about parking or 8 dollar beers. Then I take all the money I have allotted for entertainment and buy really nice seats to 2 games a year. I'm not turning my nose up at fans in the upper deck but I would rather be home than be that far from the action (it doesn't help that my eyesight is poor).

Green Bay has a few things working against them. Number one, if Milwaukee is out of the blackout zone than they really don't have that many fans affected by it. Green Bay is a football pilgrimage that fans from all over the world plan months in advance. You immediately lose most of the long distance fans on short notice. Their stadium holds 80,000 people. One of the largest in the NFL. Finally, the Packers were done a few weeks ago. Joe the plumber OKed his wife to empty the bank account on Christmas with no plans for playoffs.

Selling out now is kind of the definition of fair-weather. It's nice but the team shouldn't have to win the division and play lights out like this just to get support from home fans.

We have a long sell out streak. Last time I can remember us struggle was Jacksonville in 2011. The difference is there are thousands of fans that didn't get tickets and feel put out.

I don't think this team has ever had a home blackout.  Ticket sales aren't an issue.

Crowd volume has been at times, but it's no great shock to get more enthusiastic fan support when you're winning.

    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
    • The lack of production is especially surprising given how much effort the team put into coaxing the best from him.  In just six short years he’s had the opportunity to work with 3 different GMs, 7 different head coaches and 10 different starting quarterbacks.  There’s literally no excuse to be made that one of those combos didn’t work.  It might be time to look withIAN.
