The Pride of Both Carolinas

Greenville SC is nice and the Panthers fan base is growing here for sure... Still have older Falcons fans, and that is tough because they are in the same division ... Smitty comes down here for lunch sometimes, so if we're OK on 89's bottom line, then all y'alls should take note... Oh, and this is a silly ESPN poll. Go Panthers from Greer, SC

Good to see someone else on here from Grrrr.....I mean Greer.

There is your link for #1.

Buddy confirmed that the un-aired games were during Jimmy's reign as CDW suggested.

Any other Charleston Panthers fan recall this bullshit? I however do remember Stewart doing an appearance down here and the turnout was amazing.

However, if Charlotte is so awesome in regards the Panthers, where the hell are all the other teamers that fill up BoA coming from?

I've been reading the Huddle for years now.. It has always been a place where I felt at "home". I came here for comfort on my saddest day (football related) Jan 10, 2009.  Also celebrated some of the better times (2013 season :)   ). Even with all the negative comments against Fox, Jake, Ron, Cam, etc... I've always  felt better after leaving the huddle.. I never felt the need to add to the conversation. Just enjoyed the comments/enlightenment  from my fellow football brothers.

But.. this thread has to be one of the worst I've seen. I'm from SC, been here most of my life. I've followed the panthers since high school. Most of my friends (Greenville) pull for the Panthers. For some of you to have so much hate for SC it is really discouraging.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and free to share them.. but at some point it's better to keep your comments to yourself.

I stand beside some of you at BOA and cheer OUR team on.. yet some of you feel the need to bash me because I traveled further to get there..

wow...

Superb thread !!!  Yes, let's, using the Huddle, try to damage what we have built up over the years; a growing fan base for the Panthers (that we all love and support).  Great idea !! Very classy too...

You must be new here. All this board DOES is smack talk one another over who knows football better, who's a troll, who's a better fan, who hates Cam or hugs Cam, etc.

i grew up in Charlotte, NC and later moved to Fort Mill, SC and lived there throughout middle school and high school. Then I moved to Columbia to come to USC, and I'm still living in Columbia since graduating.  I've been a Panther fan for as long as I can remember, and I was disappointed when I came to Columbia to see that no one really cares about the Panthers, and I've learned that it's because everyone is such die hard gamecock fans.  This is actually something that I can kind of understand.  I was never a Gamecock fan until I went to USC, and now I love my Gamecocks, but it definitely doesn't compare to how I feel about the Panthers.  I grew up on the Panthers and love them so much, so it's really not possible for me to even have a close second, in terms of a sports team that I care about.  I put all my eggs in the one basket.  This is how people are in Columbia, too. I never really understood why people who didn't go to USC were Gamecock fans, but this entire region really does treat their college teams as if they were pro teams.  It's just that big of a deal in this area. It's just the way it's always been in this area, I guess.  Most people I talk to either prefer college or pro sports.. it's rare to find someone who equally supports two different teams.  So I guess I kind of understand why people might not care too much about the Panthers, because they are already so invested in their college teams.

That being said, I've been in countless arguments with people on why college sports don't compare to pro sports, and why they should support the Panthers because the Panthers represent the state they live in, and so on...

I do think that the people from NC should try to encourage people from SC to support the team, instead of telling them to F themselves.  I think its cool that the team tries to represent both states, and anyone who is scared that the team could potentially move should want the support of both states.

I hate that SC is associated with North Carolina anyways. One of the most backwards states in the country along with Alabama, Louisiana...etc

LOL. You obviously haven't traveled your own state very much. There are PLENTY of "backwards" spots in NC. My mom has a place in Hays, and that area is pretty f'ing "backwards". So next time you speak, don't, you'll come across far less moronic.

I think, in general, SC doesnt really much care about pro football, Panthers or otherwise. Altho you could make the same argument for NC, as for the LONGEST time those "true" NC fans allowed BoA to be overrun with opposing fans. So from my view, NC sucks just as much as SC when it comes to repping the Panthers.

Boiling this down to some sort of issue divided by the State line between NC and SC is nonsense. It's mostly the metro areas and both States have fans who pre-date the franchise and, for at least Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham and Greenville/Spartanburg, tons of transplant citizens. Speaking for Upstate SC, it's Panthers territory with old Falcons fans mixed in. From what I've been told, NC was Redskins territory.

Key phrase "was" redskin territory.
