Stewart and the playoffs

I don't get the 28 hate when Williams rarely does anything. Yes, when he finally does something it is usually awesome. The other plays really kill and hurt our ball control O. We need those 3 yard type consistantly runs badly

It's not hate. I love stew but I'm not going to play favorites I'm going to call it for what it is. None of the backs have been impressive but at least you know Deangelo has a home run in him. And Stew's last full game was against Tampa let me add that Deangelo didn't play that game and Stewart got the bulk of the carries. He averaged 2.8 on 14 carries for only 39 yards.

Saying that Deangelo goes down with a pinkie tackle is ridiculous. Of course he's not the load Tolbert or Stewart is...Their both over 230 lbs. Deangelo's touchdown run against the niners would not have happened if he didn't break arm tackles. The 2nd half of the Saints' game was the only time I saw Stew look like he had the same speed and power he used to.  If they want to use Stew and Tolbert up the gut then I have no problem with that, our line gets no push so I don't think it'll make that much difference. But seeing as Deangelo's broken big runs and screen passes the last few weeks that we would not have won without, you need to get him touches. If they want to use him more like Reggie Bush at this point then by all means do, unless we're going to actually open up holes and cutback lanes.

I just know he's been one of the only big play threats on an offense that has hardly any, so yeah lets bench him for Lance Armstrong. I didn't see Stew running up the middle with any more regular success than Deangelo when he got the start, Tolbert has at times. I don't care who gets the touches, people have been having this same stupid argument for 5 years. Just win

No they aren't.

Our run game is virtually nonexistent of late. We basically do nothing all game and then then break one run. That isn't good. Our run game isn't good.

It shows up like every 4th game or so. That is one nice day of running once a quarter of the season

It wasn't any better when Stewart came back.  Matter of fact it looked worst.

It's simple .. the only reason our running game shows up is that every 4th game they actually open holes.  Deangelo explodes through open running lanes.  There just aren't any.  I was watching the eagles game and was looking at how nasty Shady Mccoy is.  Then I actually started paying attention to the holes he had to run in.  It was insane.

Don't judge Dwill because of our Oline. When there are holes he is fine.... better than fine tbh.   It's just that there aren't any right now.

Stewart appeared to start catching fire in his last two games.

Whaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

Catching fire?  14 carries for 39 yards is catching fire?

......

No running back gets yards unless their is adequate blocking.  Stewart is rarely healthy and has not looked better than Deangelo.  If healthy maybe he is better but they are 2 different styles of runners.  Our Oline doesn't support any style of running unless it's let penetration up the feel so Cam can scramble running style.

Watching the Atlanta game, every single time there is a hole we have a good run. Be it Tolbert or Deangelo.   I don't think an accurate evaluation of who is better can happen unless our Oline improves.  Everyones argument that Stewart was getting even 3 yards per carry is preposterous.  He ran no better than Deangelo in those situations.  He just look more violent doing it.

Yeah you can drive a bus thru the lanes they open up. I love the argument that Deangelo only runs well when the offense makes holes for him...that is every running back. He isn't a power back like Tolbert but he is a good cutback runner and has better vision than the other 2. Bring Kubiak in during the bye week and show our guys how to zone block ha. I do hate when we run him right up the middle and then give Tolbert an offtackle run, that makes no sense and is not using each players strength the best.  I really don't get why we keep running so many power run plays up the gut with our oline.

You acknowledge the rare homerun yet not the fact him going like a grandma helps kill so many other drives....

we are ball control O.....consistency is greater than an odd home run.

And Williams has had days like that one as well.....against less stout front 7s. So....

Against that very front 7 IN Tampa DLo had 8 carries for 43 yards and a TD. That's a 5.4 average and guess who didn't play. DLo often times just needs more carries

And the main reason I brought up that game is because you said he was starting to get on a roll. You call that a roll?
