Stewart and the playoffs

If hes healthy he should be active but we shouldn't expect him to come in and handle the ball a ton when he hasn't played all year.  It would be great to have him available if one of the other backs gets nicked up, however.

I wonder if Tolbert can only run so many times, he's great but like Ironhead they only have so many runs in the tank. We need all the RBs we can get and I wouldn't mind more 2 set running plays to add more options. if you going to pound, you need to pound the D line....into submission for the 4 th quarter

I've been hard on Stew, but he looked pretty dang good in his touches against the Saints.  He was the most successful member on the offense before he went down.

Definitely need to play him if he's ready.  There's some good defenses in the NFC and Deangelo has way more drive stallers than he does positive runs.

It's wishful thinking, but maybe that injury was a blessing in disguise.  He played just enough this season to get back a feel for the game, but he's still extremely fresh... he could possibly be a huge part of the offense in the playoffs along with Smitty coming back.

Riiiiight. It had nothing to do with injuries on a depleted offensive line and opposing defenses stacking the box.

Well Deangelo has his best games when Stewart is inactive coincidence? RBs need a rhythm. Stew looked old and slow when he came back. Teams have been stacking the box for the last decade against us.

Because D-Will is getting the job done now, right? I'm sorry but waiting for Williams to get a big run after a series of minimal and negative yards isn't ideal. Say what you will about Stewart but he doesn't go down with an arm tackle and doesn't wait for a hole to open.

Stew is averaging 3.8 and Deangelo is averaging 4.2.

Wasn't it around the time Stewart came back that our offense started to regress?

No.

We won every game week 9-13. He got hurt week 14.....touched the ball twice and was a beast on both.

Offense is regressing bc we mainly run Williams and we have 10 useless runs for every good one with him. He can't create. Behind this OL you have to. Williams needs space
