2014 UFA WR

I trust Gettlemann to find the right guys.....sort of refreshing to have confidence that someone will get the job done.

I agree, I like the moves so far! Especially with what he was given. It's more likely that we resign Ted or Brandon with the expectation of them being #3 and try and draft for the #2 due to our cap situation. We don't really have the room to spend and fix the WR problem without creating another position problem elsewhere.

I would definitely take a look at Decker, Nicks, James Jones and Dwayne Bowe.

Decker will probably be offered too big a contract to match.

It's possible the same will happen with James Jones, but he's a bit on the older side at 29 y/o.  Can't agree to give him big money, but he's basically brandon lafell but can catch the freaking ball.

Bowe and Nicks are both very interesting.  After having huge let down years they could be tested out for cheap.  I'd lean toward Bowe if both are in consideration.  He doesn't have the injury history of Nicks, and I'm also convinced Alex Smith just isn't an effective downfield passer.

Kenny Britt would be really nice, but I doubt we'd look at him due his off-field concerns.  I'm close with a Titans fan who says he has some issues in the locker room as well.

We can't afford to break the bank on anyone given our cap situation. We need to be bargain hunters this offseason.

It's fine to try to shore up the WR corps through the draft, but let's not forget just how rare it is for a WR to have a substantial impact in his first two seasons.

Decker was one of the best in the nation in High school AND college. he is considered an elite WR today in the NFL as well. He has great hands and great mental strength. The guys I trust most with ball makes the clutch plays. Olsen and Smith make clutch plays. Eric Decker is something great to have on any team. Its a trustful option as well.

There are some good or potential good WR becoming free agents at the end of this season.

Nicks might actually be the best option. Lafell is UFA he just needs to walk. Old Stone Wall Donald. Here's the link. I'd like to see us take a shot at James Jones or Maclin.

James jones is a real possibility. He's one of my good friends and him on Ron Rivera have the same agent

I think DG is the kind of guy that will try to upgrade every position when the opportunity arises and the price is right. One could argue that ORT and cb are two positions that needed to be upgraded immediately.

Looking at last years WR draft class K Alllen seemed to come in most NFL ready but maybe lacks the upside as C Patterson. I think he will be looking at both Wr and OL in the first round

I'd resign Ginn before I'd resign Lafell. Ginn gives us more versatility and is a threat to bust one down the field every time. We need a possession receiver, and for the right price, Hakeem Nicks is that guy. Count me as one who thinks he would be motivated playing for this team in his hometown. A change of scenery would do him good.

If not Nicks, then Decker should be looked at. Decker is a good receiver out of the slot, and is very sure-handed (something our receivers lack this year). Overall, I have a feeling we address this position via the draft since the draft is full of WR, and free agency is not.
