Sound Off: Packers, Niners, or Eagles?

Green Bay and Philly are similar teams in that they both have prolific offenses and horrid defenses, but Rodgers is one of the best, while Foles is inexperienced. So Eagles by far.  Young qb going into a hostile playoff environment for the first time with a horrible defense.  They gave up 45+ points to Minnesota without Adrian Peterson not so long ago and we should be able to get at least 24, which means we probably win.

In 08 at this time I thought Arizona was the most favorable matchup for us

This time around, it doesn't matter really who we're facing. You must be able to take on all comers in the playoffs. We'll find out if we're no.1 contender caliber in a little less than two weeks.

I want Philly...not because I think they are the most favorable Division Round opponent for us ( I think we can and will be whoever we play).

I want them because I give NO zero chance to beat Seattle on the road....and I want the NFCC game here.

NFCC in Charlotte. That'll be the first time that happens. From that angle I guess philly would be the ideal divisional opponent. From a competitive standpoint though, it doesn't matter who we face. The team will need to prepare like never before this season for any of these other playoff teams.

Exactly what I'm thinking too...

Any of these NFC opponents we face is going to be a challenge.  All 6 teams are really good this year, and if we have to go to Seattle that will be a tough, tough game for us to win.

I give NO zero chance of beating the Seahawks in Seattle, none.

The only way we'll get two home games is if SF can go to Seattle and win (obviously assuming we win the divisional game).

I want SF again.  Kaepernick looked lost last time with the pass rush and wasn't able to find his open receivers even when he created a little time....I don't think a vet like Rodgers will panic like that.  I don't know what's happening in Philly but I'm scared of it.

This is tough.  There is who is better for us to play in the Div Round and which scenario gives us the best match-up in the NFCCG.

Philly: Something about the scares me.  Yes their defense is ranked poorly, but outside of the disaster against Minnesota the 22 points they gave up to Dallas was the most they had surrendered since Week Four.  Their defense has been much better of late and with the questions about Smitty there is certainly the possibility that the offense plays poorly.  If they cannot stay on the field we run the chance of our defense getting tired against the no-huddle offense.  Outside of the secondary, that it the only thing that worries me on that side of the ball and Philly has the offense to do it.

SF: yes they went to the SB last year and are a team that we barely beat in their place.  We know the game will be close and low scoring.  That being said, we have the better defense, the better QB, and the game at home.

GB: their defense is pitiful.  The last time they held a team below twenty-one points was Week Seven against the Browns.  This is the team that would be easiest to put up points against.  That being said, Aaron Rodgers against our secondary could be scary and someone of his talent can have a big game against any team at any time.

As for who I would like to play for one game: give me SF, then Phi, then Rodgers.

That being said, hosting Phi and then SF/GB is much preferable to hosting SF/GB and then going to Sea so give me Philly.

Look, I believe you guys can definitely beat all of the teams in the playoffs - your defense is downright scary, this may be your super bowl year.  I do think many of you are writing the Saints off vs Eagles like they don't have any chance.  Saints have never won a playoff game on the road (true) - but in the 2010 and 2011 playoff games at Seattle and S.F. - Brees is averaging 433 passing yards, 3 td's and 1 int per game - PHILLY'S pass defense is near the worst in the league.  Do you really think it is automatic that road woes continue?  Also, do you really think Seattle blows Saints out again?  Now, Saints beating you at BOA - that is a tough scenario for NO.  Just saying, don't think N.O. is an immediate out at Philly.

I agree NO is not an immediate out at Phi, but I think they are as close to an immediate out as you can get if/when they go to Seattle.

Philly isn't a lock to beat NO, no I don't think that...  however if the same road NO team shows up that has showed up all year, it will be a tough game for them.  I also think that Philly will put up points on NO's D...

Like I said, if they do end up beating Philly, I think they have almost zero chance of beating Seattle at home... it's just not going to happen, and if it goes down that way, we have to travel to Seattle for the NFCC if we win...  definitely not the best case scenario for us.  We can beat Seattle at home, but that's a very tough game in a very tough stadium.

Fwiw, I think New Orleans/Philly is 50/50, unless the weather is bad with snow or rain.  Then its 80/20 favoring Philly.
