Will we remain competitive next year?

This was the first thought that came to me as soon as Kubiak was fired. Now as more coaches get fired, I look at their records and wonder if we will remain this good next year and if this year was not an anomaly.

Gary Kubiak: Texans 2012 - 12-4

                                  2013 - 2-14

Mike Shanahan: Redskins 2012 - 10-6

                                           2013 - 3-13

Leslie Frazier: Vikings 2012 - 10-6

                                    2013 - 5-10

Gym Shorts: Lions 2011 - 10-6

                               2013 - 7-9

Why do you think we will remain competitive next year?

Oh yes.  Our defense is not only incredible, it is also incredibly young.  We will dominate on that side of the football for years to come.  The biggest question is going to be our offense.  What is going to be our identity there?  Right now, we have no real receiving threat.  Smitty looks like he's about to retire.  If we win the superbowl this year, I say it's pretty much 100% he will retire.  I've seen a few times him having a "What am I doing here" look on the sidelines.  I think he is coming to realize he doesn't have that burst he once had.  He still have the mindset of a fiery all-star, but his body isn't keeping up with that pace anymore.  If we can get this offense a good cast of receivers, the Panthers should be the best team next year, no doubt about it.
