Dave Gettleman Getting Involved

Just listening to Ron Rivera presser, it will be up on Panthers.com later. He said Dave Gettleman is prepping his staff to help with game planning for the playoffs. The details were scarce but this is something I have never heard before. Our scouting staff getting involved with opponents. Good for them, all hands on deck.

Considering Gettleman has been involved with many playoff and Super Bowl teams, I'm all for it. Look what he did for our roster via free agency! I can't wait to see what he does to opposing teams. Hail Gettleman.

He used to do that for the Giants. I'd say that worked out well. ;)

Man, when Gettleman saw the press for the first time as a general manager taking a swig of bottled water, and saying "of we do this right, we'll be holding a lombahdi", who knew he'd get to the point of consulting for playoff games so damn quickly?

It's so easy to root for a guy like Gettleman.

If you go back and look at his credentials, scouting was a big part of his background with the Super Bowl teams e.g. Giants and Broncos, which also included scouting opposing teams. It's obvious that DG played a major role in the success we've enjoyed this season, despite the deficiencies on our roster. This can only bode well for the Panthers' efforts to be among elite teams in the NFL for the foreseeable future.
