Officially Concerned about the Offense

Zod

Recommended Posts

expressing concern over our underwhelming offense as we enter into our first playoffs since 2008 is suicide watch?

talk about overreacting.

but hey, whatever helps you sell your efforts to be mr. homer instead of the troll you were known to be prior to just a few weeks ago...

The offense is NOT underwhelming. Between the Minnesota game (start of the run) and the Jets game (last full game with 89), we averaged 25.4 points per game. That's 11th in the league. Combine that with a 2nd ranked scoring defense and you're fine. Certainly not something worthy of the insane overreaction going on everywhere today.

No huddle offense... that's what thread you should create Zod. Maybe somebody in the org will see it... they be on here and it's true

Cam and this offense perform much better With Cam as our offensive weapon and biggest mismatch, and not allowing teams to set their defense up is a nightmare. If you're going to run a regular offense like us, you need 2 things. A consistent running game and a possession receiver, which we don't have

So true.

Shula's running a standard offense, when he lacks both the OL, RB, and WR corps to do so. The only reason why the offense can continue to be so efficient, is because he has a 6'6", 260 lb Man child, who can throw, buy time, run, read defenses, and take blows at QB. He's by far their best playmaker, while simultaneously/unfortunately, maybe their only one.

Cam, actually mask the multiplicity of issues that the offense and OC present. However/ironically, numerous overstressed Panther/Huddler fans routinely pick Newton apart; not realizing that he (and the defense) are the main reasons why the team is 12-4 this year. And he's certainly why the offense can appear half way functional, and sometimes like a very good unit at times when they need to be.

Shula needs to mix it up indeed. Maybe this is what he set us up all for, entering the playoffs?

We'll see?

sorry, it's just funny seeing you complain about "insane overreactions".

btw...we were averaging 25.4 points per game.

since week 9, tho, we have scored 25 points or more exactly twice. we took a dip.

but yeah....we got into the playoffs. let's all believe that there is nothing that needs to be improved.

We also benefited from being the first team with read option elements in the NFL. Then in 2012 everyone stole it for themselves and ran it into the ground, and now it's no longer an X-factor that keeps teams scared. And Cam hasn't had a monster passing game since his rookie season, and his high yardage efforts after that typically resulted in losses.

I don't know what NFL you're watching because the read option is still deadly with Cam and Wilson.

I haven't said or thought one negative thing about this team since the New England game. I was buying wins...worked every time. The team owes me money.

yes. you have gone extreme troll to extreme homer.

it's a matter of extremes and you argue in extremes by taking simple comments and concerns and blowing them way out of proportion to fit your argument and make you look better, more level.

the truth is you need depakote.

One of the best quotes I've read on here in a while. Describes the majority of the Huddle.

Yea, how many time was it? Stop being lazy and go watch the game again to answer your question. You guys are the bitchiest football fans. 12-4 and a bye week, baby! Not every one have AJ Green, Demaryus thomas, Bowe, etc. to just throw the ball up to.

Please don't act holier than though. I have watched every Panther game since 1995 and have attended 100s of games.  No one here is being bitchier than you.  People have every right to say what they want without being chastised by you just like I will give you every chance to say what you want even though you are being bitchy and doing exactly what you are criticizing others of doing.

trolling a 12-4 team? Kind of retarded, wouldn't you say?

Are you srsly this slow?  Did you read the OP or thread title?  This entire thread is about legit concern of the offense.  I'm as delighted as anyone that we're 12-4 it doesn't however make me blind.  Throwing a 6 yard swing pass 6 feet over the back's head is concerning.  No reason to isolate me as a troll when the entire thread is about concerns.

We're the hottest team in the league, right? Probably the best regular season, the best team we've ever had. First playoff game since 2009, get to play it at home. NFC South champs. Beat Brees and Payton for the first time since 2008. Beat Matty Ice in the Dome for the first time ever. Most Pro Bowlers since 1996. And yet there are more pessimistic posts on here today than positive ones. I am completely WTFing.
