ever since we beat St. Louis and were at .500, I filled out a small sheet of paper at my desk that had everyone in the playoff hunt's schedule and what I predicted would happen. I usually would throw it out after a week or three because there was so much 'correction' scribble on it you could barely read it. But since we were on the winning streak- i decided to keep it and not throw it out. hence, the good luck, karma, fortune, whatever...

 

In any case, if you can't read it I had us at 3-3 at that point in the season going on to lose to SF and MIA and sweeping NO:

CAR 11-5, South DIV winner

CHI 8-8

SF 12-4, wildcard #1

DET 11-5, wildcard #2

NO 10-6

ATL 6-10

DAL 10-6, East DIV winner

SEA 14-2, West DIV winner

GB 14-2, North DIV winner

WASH 6-10

PHI 6-10

ARZ 6-10

      Who Has to Be Off the Board to Trade Back?

      I'm glad a lot of us already understood this. The pundits are saying that this draft doesn't have a lot of elite players, but is good on depth. Why would anyone trade away a 2nd or 3rd round player to move up and grab a guy who isn't' significantly better than a player who would be available if the team stayed put. I understand moving up if all of a sudden there is a run on a position and team has that pegged as a major need. That's not happening this year with picks 1-7. We need to stay put unless some idiot GM does offer us a 2nd rounder to move down no more than 4-5 spots.

      Very curious to see how we attack free agency. They don't seem like they are gearing up to attack FA like they did last year as far as spending the kind of money they did. I think if they were they wouldn't be open to letting moton's contract ride out. They would be doing some restructures, extensions to gather as much money as possible. I think they want to continue to get young. Obviously, this is all speculation. I think they will attack the DL, just not exactly how they did OL last year. Feel free to correct me in my thinking here, always love the insight/thoughts of others.
